Job summary

Righttalentrightnow is looking for a Software Test Engineer to work directly for Fortra, based in Pune. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in software testing and strong knowledge of IT subjects such as Windows, IBM i, and SQL. Responsibilities include planning testing for new features, executing tests, and communicating with the team about test coverage. The position requires good knowledge of programming languages and test automation principles.

Qualifications

Role: Software Test Engineer – working directly for our partner Fortra as an employee of Aeries.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement testing for new minor features/functionality
• Create and execute functional and non-functional tests
• Communicate with the team around test coverage and risks
• Reproduce difficult issues within the assigned software
• Share knowledge of the product with support team members
• Provide clear defect and problem reports
• Use project and test tracking and documentation tools proficiently
• Participate in product design reviews to learn about new functionality and contribute testing estimates

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum experience of 2 years
• Working knowledge for assigned HS product
• Very good IT knowledge for the product’s platform and relevant IT subjects (Windows, IBM i, Linux, SQL, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of a major scripting/programming language on the product’s platform
• Good knowledge of one or more additional scripting/programming languages
• Strong knowledge of exploratory testing and non-functional test techniques
• Very good knowledge of test automation main principles & tools
