Job summary

A Day in Your Life at MKS MSD provides a pivotal role as a Product Safety Specialist responsible for safety data sheets, labeling, and regulatory documentation across multi-country contexts. You will collaborate with global teams to ensure compliant handling of chemical products, while advising R&D on listings and trade secrets.

You will contribute to defining safety labeling, packaging standards, and documentation, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Product Safety or Regulatory Affairs.
• Strong knowledge of GHS and DG regulations.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Highly accurate and structured work style.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Author SDS and labels per GHS and local regulations.
• Address SDS and label issues from customers.
• Prepare compliance documents and customs clearance paperwork.
• Lead and support global projects with regional teams.
• Advise R&D on listings, LVEs, and trade secrets for materials.
• Ensure classifications, safety labeling, and packaging meet legal requirements.
• Maintain all required documentation and records.
• Follow HSE guidelines and company policies.
• Develop product safety content for internal/external communications.
• Support ISO audits and audits of safety processes.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Product Safety Specialist at MKS MSD you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe use, handling, and global compliance of chemical products used in advanced surface finishing technologies. This position supports the development, classification, and documentation of chemical products in accordance with international regulations, contributing to the company’s commitment to safety, sustainability, and regulatory excellence. You will be working closely with colleagues from your own team, team manager, and other cross-functional departments. Open and clear communication with the associate manager and manager is expected. You are expected to come up with your own ideas and approaches to execute the tasks and duties successfully. When required, you will also act as a support to customer through consultation, trouble shooting, process optimization, maintaining the confidentiality and compliance of the department and the company.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Authoring SDS (Safety Data Sheets) & labels for various countries acc. to GHS (Global Harmonized system & local regulations).
• Solving Issues related to SDS & labels from internal & external customers.
• Authoring Compliance documents & Custom clearance documents.
• Handling & supervising WW projects in cooperation with WW colleagues.
• Provide council to R&D colleagues with respect to listing, LVEs （Low Volume exemption） & Trade secrets for raw materials and products.
• Process and implement legal requirements with respect to Classification/Safety/Labelling and Packaging of raw materials and products.
• Maintain and provide all required documentation.
• Follow HSE & company guidelines.
• Product Safety content development for internal/external communication.
• Implementation of Global projects at regional level.
• Participating in relevant knowledge sharing platforms.
• Supporting in ISO audits.

Skills You Bring:

• Master’s in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry/ Organic Chemistry/ Inorganic Chemistry or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant experience in Product Safety, Regulatory Affairs or Product Stewardship
• Very good knowledge of GHS and its national implementations, Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA-DGR, IMDG Code, ADR)
• Very good in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work in a highly accurate and structured manner.
• Strong sense of responsibility, confidentiality, discretion, and dedication.
• Excellent communication, positive attitude, keen observation skills, and team skills.
• Very good knowledge with respect to Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
