Job summary

Expleo in Pune, India is seeking an experienced Product Owner – Cards to define and manage the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for card-related products. You will collaborate with Business, Technology, Operations and QA in an Agile setting to deliver end-to-end card solutions.

The role requires deep Cards domain expertise, background in Card Issuing/Acquiring, and strong knowledge of card payments, digital banking, and regulatory considerations.

Qualifications

• Strong Cards domain expertise with Banking / Financial Services experience.
• Hands-on experience in Card Issuing and/or Card Acquiring.
• Strong understanding of Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Prepaid Cards and Card Payments.
• Good understanding of ATM, POS and E-commerce card transactions.
• Experience with card schemes such as Visa and Mastercard is preferred.
• Strong Digital Banking experience, including Mobile and/or Internet Banking.
• Proven experience as Product Owner in Banking environments.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Product Backlog Management, User Stories, Epics, Features and Acceptance Criteria.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and backlog for Cards products.
• Define priorities based on customer needs, business objectives, regulatory requirements, and market trends.
• Collaborate with business, technology, QA, UX/UI, and operations to deliver card products.
• Gather, analyse, and document business and product requirements.
• Create and maintain Epics, Features, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Prioritise and manage the Product Backlog and ensure timely delivery of features.
• Participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Drive end-to-end product development from ideation to release.
• Monitor performance, customer experience, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Work with Cards, Digital Banking, Payments, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams.

Position: Product Owner – Cards

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner – Cards with strong expertise in Cards, Banking, and Digital Banking. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and managing the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for card-related products while working closely with business, technology, operations, and other stakeholders in an Agile environment.

The candidate must have strong knowledge of Card Issuing, Card Acquiring, Credit/Debit Cards, Card Payments, ATM, POS and E-commerce and should be able to translate business requirements into clear product requirements and user stories.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and backlog for Cards products.
• Define product priorities based on customer needs, business objectives, regulatory requirements, and market trends.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, QA, UX/UI, and operations to deliver card products and enhancements.
• Gather, analyse, and document business and product requirements.
• Create and maintain Epics, Features, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Prioritise and manage the Product Backlog and ensure timely delivery of product features.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Drive end-to-end product development from ideation and requirements through implementation and release.
• Collaborate with technology teams to ensure solutions meet business and customer requirements.
• Monitor product performance, customer experience, and business outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work with stakeholders across Cards, Digital Banking, Payments, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology.
• Support product launches, enhancements, migrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Strong Cards domain expertise with Banking / Financial Services experience.
• Hands-on experience in Card Issuing and/or Card Acquiring.
• Strong understanding of Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Prepaid Cards and Card Payments.
• Good understanding of ATM, POS and E-commerce card transactions.
• Experience with card schemes such as Visa and Mastercard is preferred.
• Strong Digital Banking experience, including Mobile and/or Internet Banking.
• Proven experience working as a Product Owner / Senior Product Owner in a Banking environment.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in Product Backlog Management, User Stories, Epics, Features and Acceptance Criteria.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Business, Technology, QA, Architecture and Operations teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Digital Cards / Virtual Cards.
• Knowledge of Card Payment Processing and Authorization.
• Understanding of Clearing and Settlement processes.
• Exposure to Payment Networks / Card Schemes.
• Experience with Jira / Confluence or similar Agile product management tools.
• Experience working in large-scale banking transformation or digital banking programmes.
