Job summary

Jar in Bengaluru is seeking a Product Manager – Mutual Funds to own end‑to‑end investing experiences for first‑time investors across tier‑2 and tier‑3 India. You will define and execute the product vision for mutual fund discovery, onboarding, SIP setup, portfolio management, and redemption.

Collaborate with design, engineering, growth, and compliance to ship simple, trust‑driven experiences that boost activation, retention, and AUM while adhering to SEBI and AMFI guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of product management experience in fintech, wealth-tech, consumer tech, or related fields.
• Understanding of mutual funds, investing, personal finance, or wealth-management products.
• User-focused with the ability to translate investor needs into impactful product experiences.
• Analytical mindset with ability to use data and insights to guide product decisions.
• Strong collaboration and communication across teams.
• Ability to simplify complex investment concepts into intuitive user experiences.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.

What’s the role?

As Product Manager – Mutual Funds, you will own the end‑to‑end investing experience for a user base that is new to financial products. We serve first‑time investors across tier‑2 and tier‑3 India – salaried professionals, self‑employed individuals, and skilled tradespeople who have historically been underserved by mainstream investment platforms. You will define and execute the product vision for mutual fund discovery, onboarding, SIP setup, portfolio management, and redemption. The role demands an unusually high bar for simplicity: your users are trust‑first and friction‑averse, and every screen you ship either builds or erodes confidence in investing. You will work closely with design, engineering, growth, and compliance to ship experiences that drive investor activation, retention, and AUM growth while meeting SEBI and AMFI regulatory requirements. Success in this role is measured by how many people invest for the first time and how many come back. This is a high‑ownership, high‑visibility role at the core of what we’re building.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and drive the Mutual Funds product strategy and roadmap.
• Investor‑Centric Approach: Identify investor needs and pain points through user research, feedback, and data analysis.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, data, growth, operations, and business teams to build and launch new features and products.
• Product Execution: Manage the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring products meet user needs and business objectives.
• Data‑Driven Decisions: Use data and analytics to monitor product performance, investor behaviour, and key business metrics to guide product decisions.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on trends in mutual funds, investing, and fintech to keep the offerings competitive and user‑focused.

What’s required from you?

• Experience: 3-5 years of product management experience in fintech, wealth‑tech, consumer tech, or related fields.
• Domain Knowledge: Understanding of mutual funds, investing, personal finance, or wealth‑management products.
• User‑Focused: Passion for understanding investor needs and translating them into impactful product experiences.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to use data and insights to make informed decisions and measure product success.
• Collaboration: Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams.
• Problem‑Solver: Ability to simplify complex investment concepts into intuitive user experiences.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment.
• Good to have: Prior experience building investment, wealth‑management, or mutual fund products and prior experience mentoring a team is a plus.
