Product Manager Devices (Broadband Products)

About the Role

Airtel’s Devices team is looking for a seasoned Product Manager to lead the roadmap, development, and lifecycle of broadband customer-premise-equipment (CPE) products, including Routers, Gateways, WiFi solutions, and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) devices. You will play a pivotal role in shaping Airtel’s broadband device strategy, collaborating with engineering, vendors, network teams, supply chain, and marketing to deliver bestinclass customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Own and drive the end-to-end product roadmap for broadband devices such as WiFi routers, dual/triband gateways, ONTs, Mesh WiFi systems, and 5G FWA devices.
• Identify market trends, customer needs, competitive offerings, and technology advancements to define long‑term product evolution.
• Evaluate and prioritize features based on customer impact, business value, and technical feasibility.

Product Development & Lifecycle Management

• Lead cross‑functional teams across concept, design, development, testing, certification, launch, and end‑of‑life phases.
• Collaborate with OEMs/ODMs, chipset partners, and technology vendors to deliver high‑performance, cost‑optimized products.
• Ensure device compliance with WiFi standards, 5G specifications, regulatory norms, and Airtel network requirements.
• Drive performance testing, field trials, quality validation, and customer‑experience improvements.

Program & Vendor Management

• Manage timelines, milestones, and delivery schedules across multiple teams using structured program management methodologies.
• Lead vendor negotiations for cost optimisation, feature enhancements, and supply commitments.
• Track product performance using KPIs including NPS, reliability, network performance, returns, and customer insights.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Network Engineering, Digital, Customer Experience, Field Operations, and Marketing to ensure smooth integration and launch readiness.
• Develop product documentation, training materials, and internal communication briefs.
• Support post‑launch performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8–12 years of experience in product management, device development, or program management within telecom, broadband, networking, or consumer electronics domains.
• Strong understanding of WiFi standards (802.11ac/ax/be), routing technologies, 5G NR, FWA, chipset ecosystems, and CPE architecture.
• Experience working with OEM/ODM partners, hardware/software vendors, and certification agencies.
• Strong execution and program management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE).
• Additional certifications in product management, networking, or wireless technologies is a plus.
