Unbox Robotics in Pune, India seeks a high-ownership Product Manager to lead the Hardware Products portfolio, defining vision, roadmap and execution for robotic systems from AMRs to sensors and embedded control units.
You will own products end-to-end—from market discovery, business case and NPI through launch and iteration—collaborating with hardware, software, supply chain and customer success teams to deliver impactful outcomes.
We are seeking a high-ownership Product Manager to spearhead the Hardware Products portfolio at Unbox Robotics. You will define the vision, roadmap, and execution strategy for our robotic hardware systems — from AMRs and sortation hardware to sensors and embedded control units. This role sits at the intersection of hardware engineering, software engineering, supply chain, and customer success. You will own products end-to-end: from market discovery and business case through NPI, launch, and post-deployment iteration.
1. Product Vision & Roadmap
Own hardware roadmap aligned with strategy and customer needs
Drive modular, platform-based design and manage product backlog
Align with software/AI teams and track product KPIs
2. Market & Competitive Insights
Conduct market sizing and competitive benchmarking
Track emerging technologies and industry trends
Use customer insights and win/loss analysis to guide decisions
3. Customer Discovery & Requirements
Translate workflows into clear hardware requirements
Own PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
4. Execution & Delivery
Work with cross-functional teams to deliver products (EVT → PVT)
Drive manufacturability, reliability, and cost optimisation
Coordinate with supply chain, QA, and field teams
5. Go-To-Market & Impact
Support pricing, positioning, and product launches
Enable sales with tools and support pilots
Track performance and drive continuous improvements
2–4 years of product management experience with at least 2 years owning hardware or electromechanical products.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in robotics, industrial automation, IoT hardware, or related deep-tech domains.
Strong grasp of hardware development cycles — EVT, DVT, PVT, NPI, and mass production.
Proven ability to write sharp PRDs and work closely with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering teams.
Data-driven mindset with proficiency in Excel/SQL for metrics analysis, market sizing, and business case development.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management across engineering, sales, supply chain, and leadership.
Experience with AMRs, warehouse sortation systems, or logistics automation hardware.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum tooling (Jira, Confluence) and sprint-based hardware delivery models.
Exposure to firmware/embedded systems, ROS-based platforms, or robot fleet management software.
Knowledge of UX/UI considerations for hardware configuration tools and fleet management dashboards.
Exposure to DFM/DFS processes, reliability engineering, or hardware certification (CE, FCC, UL).
Prior experience in a high-growth startup or Series A–C environment.
B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Electronics, Robotics, or related engineering discipline (required).
MBA or M.Tech in Product Development / Systems Engineering (preferred, not mandatory).
Demonstrable portfolio of hardware products shipped from 0→1 or scaled significantly.
Bias for action and ownership mentality in a fast-paced startup environment.
Systems-thinking — big picture product vision paired with rigorous attention to hardware detail.
Intellectual curiosity that bridges hardware engineering depth with commercial and market acumen.
Proven record of thriving in constraint-driven, cross-functional environments.
