Job summary

Tipstat seeks its first dedicated product experience designer to own how Ozyn.AI and Alvoff feel from first click to final workflow.

You will design trust between users and AI, shaping onboarding, interactions, and pricing while collaborating with founders and engineering to steer the roadmap.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in product design or UX, ideally in B2B SaaS or complex workflow tools.
• Strong working knowledge of user psychology and behavioral design.
• Research skills including interviews, usability testing and product analytics.
• Strong craft in interaction design, information architecture and visual design.

Responsibilities

• Talk to users weekly, observe sessions, and analyze data to identify gaps between user statements and actions.
• Design trust between users and AI agents, deciding when an agent acts autonomously and when it asks for input.
• Shape behavior with motivation, cognitive load, and deliberate friction.
• Own onboarding, empty states, errors, notifications, emails, and pricing journeys.
• Give products a distinctive feel supported by evidence rather than generic SaaS aesthetics.
• Tie design to activation, adoption, retention, and run experiments to learn what works.

Job description

AI can make a polished screen in seconds. Getting someone to trust an AI agent with their real work is much harder. That's the problem we're hiring for.

At Tipstat, we build AI systems that run whole business workflows. Our two products are Ozyn.AI, a productivity assistant that works across Gmail, CRM, Calendar, Sheets and 50+ other integrations, and Alvoff, an AI-native B2B procurement platform. Our customers are mid-market companies, many in regulated industries.

You'll be our first dedicated product experience hire. You'll own how both products feel, from the first click to the hundredth workflow.

What you'll do

• Talk to users every week, watch session recordings and dig into data to find the gap between what people say and what they actually do
• Design trust between people and AI agents: when an agent acts on its own and when it asks first, how it shows its work, and how users take back control
• Shape behavior, not just screens, using motivation, habit, cognitive load and deliberate friction
• Own the whole journey: onboarding, empty states, errors, notifications, emails and pricing
• Give our products a distinct feel instead of the generic SaaS look, and back your choices with evidence
• Tie design to activation, adoption of agent workflows and retention, and run experiments to learn what works and why
• Use Claude Design, Figma and code prototypes to explore quickly, then spend your time choosing and refining
• Work with founders and engineering to shape the roadmap
• Build our experience principles, design system and research practice

What we're looking for

• 6+ years in product design or UX, ideally in B2B SaaS or complex workflow tools
• Deep working knowledge of user psychology and behavioral design. You can explain why a design works, not just that it looks good
• Research skills you actually use: interviews, usability testing and product analytics
• Strong craft in interaction design, information architecture and visual design
• Clear writing. You treat microcopy as part of the design
• Comfort with ambiguity and with being the only designer in the room
• Hands-on experience with AI design and prototyping tools

Bonus points if you've designed AI or agent products, worked in a regulated industry, or can prototype in code.

This role probably isn't for you if your best work is Dribbble shots rather than outcomes, or if you'd rather hand off mockups and move on.
