Job summary

Saraswatii Global in India is seeking a seasoned Product Development professional for premium Hand Knotted and Hand Tufted carpet collections. You will translate market needs into new concepts and oversee development from concept to final product.

Collaborate with Design, Sampling, Production and Quality teams while staying ahead of global luxury trends. You will manage multiple development projects, drive quality standards, and help expand the brand's premium rug portfolio.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Product Development / Carpet Design / Rugs / Home Furnishing / Textiles.
• Strong knowledge of Hand Knotted and Hand Tufted carpets.
• Good understanding of premium/luxury carpet quality, construction, textures and finishing.
• Strong knowledge of colours, patterns, materials and current international and domestic design trends.
• Experience in working with international/export-oriented customers will be an advantage.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Creative mindset with good commercial and product understanding.
• Ability to manage multiple product development projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop new premium Hand Knotted and Hand Tufted carpet collections.
• Research international and domestic market trends, colours, patterns, textures and contemporary design directions.
• Develop new product concepts based on customer and market requirements.
• Coordinate with Design, Sampling, Production and Quality teams from concept to final product.
• Work on yarn, material, construction, pile height, texture, colour and finishing specifications.
• Develop samples and prototypes and ensure they meet required quality and design standards.
• Modify existing designs/products based on customer feedback and market trends.
• Maintain a strong product development pipeline and introduce new collections regularly.
• Evaluate product costing and commercial feasibility in coordination with relevant teams.
• Coordinate with artisans, vendors and production teams to ensure accurate execution of new designs.
• Maintain proper documentation of product specifications, samples and development status.
• Stay updated with global luxury carpet and rug trends and competitor products.
