Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product development from concept to master production.
• Analyse trends and translate concepts into market-ready collections.
• Collaborate with karigars, CAD designers, stone setters and vendors.
• Ensure designs are optimised for mass production, weight targets, and cost budgets.
• Maintain digital catalog of master designs, BOMs, weight sheets, and production specifications.
• Oversee quality control of prototype samples before mass manufacturing.

Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and creative Product Development (PD) Manager to lead our jewellery design and product development lifecycle. Based in Sachin, Surat, you will bridge the gap between creative design concepts and scalable manufacturing. You will manage the entire journeyfrom conceptualisation, CAD/CAM, and prototyping to final master productionensuring adherence to market trends, cost efficiency, and exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Trend Analysis: Research global jewellery trends (Gold, Diamond, Platinum, and Silver), consumer preferences, and competitor offerings to conceptualise innovative, market-ready collections.
• End-to-End Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the transition of designs from sketches/mood boards into 3D CAD models, rapid prototyping, rubber moulding, wax carving, casting, and final master sample creation.
• Technical Feasibility & Costing: Collaborate closely with the production and manufacturing floors in Surat to ensure designs are optimised for mass production, weight targets, and strict cost budgets.
• Vendor & Artisan Coordination: Manage relationships with internal karigars, CAD designers, stone setters, and external vendors to maintain timely delivery of samples.
• Quality Control: Inspect prototype samples meticulously for finishing, stone setting integrity, structural durability, and overall design accuracy before mass manufacturing approval.
• Documentation & Database Management: Maintain a secure and organized digital catalog of all master designs, BOMs (Bill of Materials), weight sheets, and production specifications.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 4 to 8 years of proven experience in jewellery product development, merchandising, or design management within a manufacturing or export setup.
• Education: Degree or Diploma in Jewellery Design, or related fields graduates preferred).
• Technical Skills:
  • o Proficiency in jewellery CAD software (Matrix, Rhino, or Jewel CAD).
  • o Strong working knowledge of traditional manufacturing processes (casting, stamping, handmade).
  • o Deep understanding of diamond grading, gemstone properties, and precious metal alloys.
• Soft Skills: Strong project management abilities, sharp eye for detail, creative vision coupled with commercial practicality, and effective team leadership.
• Location Preference: Candidates currently based in or willing to relocate to Surat, Gujarat (specifically around Sachin GIDC or nearby areas).
