Job summary

Without (by Ashaya) in Pune, India, is seeking a high-energy industrial design intern for a 6-month, full-time program. You will move from digital models to physical prototypes, collaborate with the core team across research, ideation, 3D modelling, and manufacturing support.

This is an in-person role based in Bhosari, MIDC, with immediate availability. You will gain experience across 3D modelling, prototyping, and manufacturing workflows in a fast-paced startup setting.

Job description

Without (by Ashaya) is an early-stage startup based in Pune, India, working at the confluence of deep impact and deep technology. The company's mission is to solve complex, systemic problems and, in its own words, evolve capitalism. The team is in a critical two-year window focused on improving and proving its technology at scale, operating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

The role

This is a 6-month, full-time internship for a high-energy industrial designer who can move quickly from digital models to physical prototypes on the shop floor. The intern will work closely with the core team across research, ideation, 3D modelling, prototyping, and manufacturing support. The role is fully in-person, based in Bhosari, MIDC (Pune).

What you would do

• Assist in research for new and existing design initiatives, keeping clear and structured documentation throughout.
• Explore novel product options with a focus on functional design, sustainability, and innovation.
• Use AI tools alongside traditional workflows to rapidly iterate on early-stage concepts and ideas.
• Build 3D models, refine geometries, and generate files for rapid prototyping (3D printing).
• Create realistic renders and visuals for internal review and technical evaluation.
• Work hands-on on the shop floor: support 3D printing, post-processing, assembly, and physical testing.
• Support manufacturing runs and team coordination.
• Take on whatever tasks are needed to keep projects moving forward in a startup environment.

• Strong grasp of the core design process, user-centred thinking, and practical problem-solving.
• Proficiency in 3D design software (SolidWorks, Fusion, Creo, or Rhino), rendering tools (KeyShot or Blender), and graphic software (Photoshop or Illustrator).
• Comfortable using AI tools (such as ChatGPT, visual generation tools, and automation workflows) to speed up research, ideation, and iteration.
• Basic understanding of design documentation and rapid prototyping.
• Relentless work ethic, high resilience, and a drive to build fast in an uncertain environment.
• Flexible attitude: willing to do everything from 3D modelling to hands-on assembly and shop floor tasks.

Working arrangements

This is a fully in-person role. You must be willing to be based in Pune, India, and commute daily to Bhosari, MIDC. Immediate availability is required.

Pay and benefits

• INR 15,000 per month stipend.
• An internship completion letter is issued on successful completion of the 6-month programme.
