Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking engineers in Kolkata with expertise in material handling and heavy equipment design. The role covers analysis and design of conveyors and port equipment, plus detailed engineering deliverables, reviews and vendor evaluations.

The position requires diploma/ITI in mechanical engineering and 3–20 years in related fields, with proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Inventor. EPC consultancy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Full-time Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university/institute.
• 3-20 years of experience in engineering & design of Material Handling, mining, steel or port equipment.
• Strong knowledge of machine design, drive systems, hydraulics, and structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Should have experience in analysis and design of Belt Conveyors, Pipe Conveyors, Stacker Reclaimers, Wagon Tipplers, Feeders etc.
• Should have detailed engineering experience in stacker reclaimer, port cranes, ship loader, unloader, etc. is required
• Prepare design calculations, equipment sizing, drive selection, technical evaluation & specifications, datasheets, and engineering deliverables.
• Review drawings, and technical offers to ensure compliance with project specifications and industrial standards.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations, vendor offer reviews and provide recommendations for procurement.
• Review and approve vendor documents, calculations, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and design submissions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Indian and International standards, safety regulations, and engineering best practices.
• Provide technical support to project teams during project execution, construction and commissioning phases.
• Experience in software like Auto Cad and Inventor for modelling is necessary

• 3-20 years of experience in engineering & design of Material Handling, mining, steel or port equipment.
• Strong knowledge of machine design, drive systems, hydraulics, and structural engineering.
• Should be able to perform equipment sizing calculations, design validation, and engineering documentation.
• Experience in engineering consultancy, design centres, or EPC organizations will be preferred.
