Role and Responsibilities:

• Pitch stories and file video scripts on deadline for a social-media-first audience
• Research stories thoroughly and review visuals to find the most compelling images
• Shoot video when there’s no footage available
• Will also be required to do Face-led’s and Voice overs.
• Interview newsmakers for stories that resonate with a young audience
• Translate/write scripts keeping a strong sense of the News
• Highly proficient in verbal and written communication
• Conversant with social media best practices
• Ability to understand the ethical framework in digital environment in sync with Brut’s philosophy

Requirement:

• Experience of 5-7 years with a Degree in journalism/ communication
• Proficiency in English
• A previous experience in camera facing roles would be preferred.
• Knowledge of Indian politics and culture
• Experience turning around digital video scripts on deadline
• Rigorous fact-checking and verification skills and terrific instincts to find unique angles to the news
• Attention to detail and accuracy a must & Intuitive understanding of storytelling on social media
• Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop and After Effects.
• Should be a strong Team player and someone who thrives on internet culture
• Self-starter who requires minimal supervision and has passion for visual storytelling in new format
