Job summary

The Hiring Company is seeking a Procurement Manager – Plant & Machinery to oversee procurement for a Biogas/CBG plant. You will source vendors, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery while controlling costs.

This role requires strong vendor management and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Stores and Finance teams. Ideal candidates will have 6–10 years of procurement experience in industrial plants, CAPEX/OPEX management, and familiarity with ERP

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Procure and manage EPC and O&M contracts, including vendor evaluation, negotiations and cost control.
• Oversee purchasing of plant machinery, equipment, spares, electrical/instrumentation items, pumps, valves and pipelines.
• Handle CAPEX and OPEX procurement and ensure alignment with approved budgets.

About the Role

We are looking for a Procurement Manager – Plant & Machinery who will manage the

purchase of machinery, equipment, spares and other materials required for our

Biogas/CBG plant.

The person will be responsible for finding the right vendors, negotiating prices, ensuring

timely delivery and controlling procurement costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for procurement and contract management of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and O&M (Operations and Maintenance) contracts, including vendor evaluation, commercial negotiations, and ensuring
• Manage purchase of plant machinery, equipment, spares, electrical items, instrumentation, pumps, compressors, valves, pipelines and other engineering items.
• Handle CAPEX and OPEX procurement for the plant.
• Identify new vendors and maintain good relationships with existing suppliers.
• Get quotations, compare prices and negotiate the best commercial terms.
• Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery timelines, warranty and other commercial terms.
• Develop alternate vendors to ensure there is no dependency on a single supplier.
• Work with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Stores and Finance teams to understand requirements.
• Ensure critical materials and equipment are delivered on time as per plant requirements.
• Track purchase orders and follow up with vendors for timely delivery.
• Check vendor performance based on price, quality and delivery.
• Identify opportunities to reduce procurement and operating costs.
• Maintain vendor records, quotations, comparison sheets, purchase orders and other procurement documents.
• Ensure all purchases are within the approved budget and company procurement process.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, management or a related field.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in procurement, especially in industrial plants, engineering, CAPEX, and OPEX management.
• Experience in Biogas, CBG, Manufacturing, Fertilizer, Waste Management, Renewable Energy or similar industries will be preferred.
• Good experience in machinery, equipment, spares, electrical and instrumentation procurement.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/procurement software.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
