Job summary

Burckhardt Compression in Maharashtra is seeking an experienced Indirect Purchasing professional for a 1-year contract. You will manage indirect spend, source suppliers, float and evaluate quotes, negotiate, and raise POs through SAP MM.

Role involves expediting with vendors, coordinating with QA for GRN clearance, and maintaining MIS data while ensuring EOHS/ISO compliance. Strong supplier network and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BE (Mech.) with 8-10 years' experience in direct or indirect purchase.
• Knowledge of EOHS/ISO Procedures.
• Knowledge of SAP MM Module, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint.
• Good command over written and verbal communication.
• Exposure in indirect domain for minimum 5 years.
• Vendor base knowledge for indirect items and services.

Responsibilities

• Procure indirect items and services for the company.
• Float enquiries of indirect commodities and evaluate quotes.
• Source new suppliers in indirect domain to meet audit needs.
• Evaluate quotations, perform cost comparisons, negotiate and raise POs in SAP.
• Expedite with vendors for on-time delivery and resolve tech issues with Eng/Tech.
• Coordinate with QA for on-time inspection and GRN clearance.
• Visit vendors when needed to expedite pending activities.
• Document POs and related activities; maintain MIS data.
• Adhere to QMS, EOHS and related procedures; drive cost savings.
• Define saving strategies and monitor company-level targets.

Job description

Position type: Contract (1 Year)

Main task of position:

• Commodities to be handled: All indirect related items like, Maintenance items and it's services, Admin related items and their services, Capex items, Building, IT, Transport, Insurance services etc..
• Float enquiries of above-mentioned commodities.
• To find out new sources in Indirect domain & get additional quotes if initiator department gives only single quote to meet audit requirements
• Evaluate quotations, Make Cost comparison, Formulate negotiation strategy, Negotiate, Get it approved as per defined level and raise Purchase Orders through SAP system
• Expediting with vendors for on-time delivery, sort out technical issues in co-ordination with supplier\Engg\Technical department.
• Co-ordination with QA for on-time inspection and GRN clearance
• Visit to vendors if needed for expediting of pending activities or pending material
• Documentation of Purchase Order & related activities
• Update and maintain data required for MIS
• Maintain & adhere to QMS, EOHS & related procedures.
• Investigate and bring new suppliers for cost saving
• To control indirect, spend within budget
• To define saving strategy and to monitor / update company level targeted savings
• To ensure adherence to procurement policies / governance
• Lead / Support Indirect sourcing strategy development - conducts opportunity analysis, data collection, etc.
• Supports risk and compliance program management
• Conducts supply market analysis and evaluates opportunities to streamline vendors
• Manages procurement performance metrics, Cost Savings, Free cash flow, Cost Avoidance, etc
• Responsible for Indirect items and services related to BCIN as well as GSC office

Education / Experience:

• BE (Mech.) with 8-10 years' of experience in direct or indirect purchase.
• Knowledge of EOHS/ISO Procedures
• Knowledge of SAP MM Module, MS Word, MS Excel, Power point
• Good command over written and verbal communication
• Having exposure in indirect domain for minimum 5 years
• Known to vendor base for Indirect items and services

Language skills:

• English
• Language skill in German would be added advantage

Special requirements:

• This role is seeking maximum value for the company in term of time and cost. Must have sound knowledge of vendor base in Indirect domain, Indian taxes as well as duties and excellent negotiation skills.
