Haleon is seeking a Procurement Manager, CMO APAC, based in India, to lead CMOs and drive cost, quality and lead-time improvements across the South Asia region. You will steer contracts, governance and supplier performance while collaborating with regional and global teams.

The role requires 10+ years in procurement, with strong experience in CMOs, direct materials and risk management. This is a senior leadership position focused on strategic supplier partnerships and sustainable cost savings.

Qualifications

  • Master’s/MBA with 10+ years in procurement, direct materials/CMO space.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement tools: sourcing, RFQ, RFIs, contract negotiation, supplier reviews.
  • Proven track record in cost reduction and supplier performance across complex supply chains.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to drive change in a matrix organization.
  • Experience in launching new products and integrating new businesses.
  • Experience in cGMP OTC and FMCG environments; supplier management and negotiations.

  • Plan & implement a robust sourcing strategy to support product innovation.
  • Advance supply relationships with CMOs & suppliers addressing cost, service, quality, lead time, working capital and innovation.
  • Support annual planning with market insights for budgeting.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with CMOs and suppliers to maximize opportunities.
  • External supplier relationships: implement KPI improvement strategies.
  • Build strategic relationships with CMOs and suppliers at senior levels.
  • Implement supplier account management and regular performance assessment.
  • Transform supply chain to release value and improve responsiveness.
  • Identify and manage significant risks in the supply chain.
  • Ensure mitigation plans and communicate risks within impacted units.

About the Role

The Procurement Manager, CMO APAC, is part of the Global Procurement organization and will be responsible for managing CMOs for South Asia OU. This critical role requires proven experience in people leadership, business partnership, developing strong external relationships, navigation through organizational complexity, handling escalation and associated business impact. Responsible for managing Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) for supply of our marketed products and future innovations. Accountable for creating and implementing Procurement strategies and initiatives which improve quality and service/ supply risk and deliver significant cost savings to the business unit Build relationships with CMO operations team, regional & global direct procurement teams to drive synergies and support delivery of cost management targets. Collaborate with CMOs to deliver ambitions of cost, service, quality, lead time, working capital and innovation through robust supplier performance management programs. Collaborate and align with other Procurement leaders and teams within the region and/or globally to understand and adopt best practices Strategically engage with and understand the business requirements of stakeholders and business partners and to position the Procurement value proposition Build and implement robust risk management framework to ensure business continuity and ensuring seamless communication process between the business and CMO Team. Ensure Haleon Procurement policies, procedures, processes, systems and methodologies are utilized in a compliant manner in the area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective ways of working across BU, Directs, Cross-BU and cross functional team
  • Develop a cost management strategy and be accountable for delivery of agreed cost reduction programs and associated targets.
  • Accountable to develop medium to long term value pipeline for cost reduction through various value streams e.g. Value engineering, alternate sourcing, automation, capital restructuring etc.
  • Deploy negotiation strategy standards across CMOs and Direct material suppliers by building a strong “should-cost” foundation.
  • Plan & implement a robust and agile sourcing strategy to effectively support product innovation
  • Be accountable for developing and implementing strategies for advancing supply relationships with CMOs & material’s suppliers that address the ambitions for cost, service, quality, lead time, working capital and innovation.
  • Support annual planning process with robust market insights to support budgeting principles leveraged for plan development
  • Negotiate, create, execute and manage effective contracts with CMOs and suppliers that will allow Haleon to maximize opportunity.
  • External supplier relationships: Develop and Implement Operational excellence strategies and plans for KPI improvement for CMOs & Direct material suppliers
  • Build strategic relationships with CMOs & suppliers at a senior level and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships.
  • Implement a robust supplier account management structure and regular performance assessment for superior supplier performance
  • Supply chain & risk management: Transform the supply chain to release value and make Haleon more responsive to business and customer needs – for example in cost control, complexity reduction, simplification, automation, best practice procurement and KPI’s.
  • Identify and manage significant risks in the supply chain.
  • Ensure appropriate mitigation plans are in place and in use and that the risks are communicated appropriately within business units impacted
Qualifications & Skills
  • Essential: Preferred Level of Education: Master’s Degree/ MBA 10+ years of Procurement experience preferably in Directs & CMO space Area of Specialization: Procurement/Contract Manufacturing/ Supply Chain/ Engineering/ Science/ Business/ Finance Preferred: Deep expertise in CMO procurement with well-rounded exposure to direct materials procurement, including raw materials and packaging, to support end-to-end supply chain decision-making.
  • Excellent knowledge of Procurement tools such as sourcing, RFQ, RFIs, Contract negotiation, supplier review, supplier development and others
  • Proven track record of strong cost reduction programs & experience of supplier performance and relationship management across complex supply chains
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to work in partnership with others to drive, implement and support change
  • Experience in Implementing new product launches and the integration of new businesses and business models.
  • Demonstrated Procurement experience operating in a cGMP OTC and FMCG environment. Sourcing strategy and Procurement skills including supplier relationship management, supplier development, continuous improvement, negotiation, and the ability to understand and implement complex contractual arrangements preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence a complex and diverse matrix of stakeholders and peers across regional and category teams.
  • Knowledge of Risk analysis and option analysis tools and techniques.
