Job summary

Wilhelmsen in Mumbai seeks a Procurement Lead to steer day-to-day procurement for a global maritime fleet and to coach a team of Procurement Officers, ensuring timely delivery within SLAs and governance standards.

You will collaborate with Vessel Managers, Technical teams, suppliers and logistics partners to optimize costs and improve procurement processes while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of maritime procurement experience with exposure to procurement, logistics or supervisory roles.
• Shipping or sailing experience is preferred.
• Degree, Diploma, FE Qualification, or CIPS qualification required.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Good understanding of marine procurement, logistics and supplier management.

• Ensure procurement transactions are processed within agreed SLAs.
• Coordinate with Vessel Managers, Technical teams, suppliers and logistics providers for timely delivery.
• Monitor team KPIs, performance, and resource planning.

• Drive process improvement and support the Procurement Manager as required.

PROCUREMENT LEAD (MUMBAI)

Lead operational procurement activities for a global maritime fleet while supporting the Procurement Manager in delivering service excellence, cost efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction. As a Procurement Lead, you will oversee a team of Procurement Officers, ensuring procurement processes are executed in line with agreed service levels, governance requirements, and operational priorities. Working closely with Vessel Managers, Technical teams, suppliers, and logistics partners, you will ensure the timely delivery of goods and services, drive continuous improvement initiatives, monitor team performance, and support sourcing and supplier management activities.

About the Role
