Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling in Pune seeks a Procurement Engineer-II to drive supplier capability assessments, develop global and regional sourcing strategies, and manage supplier relationships to meet quality, delivery and cost targets.

You will negotiate pricing agreements, oversee cost planning, and implement corrective actions for quality issues. Strong Excel, negotiation & independent work skills are essential, with SAP MM familiarity a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Supply Chain/Procurement experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Good presentation and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills at all levels of business.
• Self-starter with strong ability to work independently.
• Familiar with ERP system with SAP MM preferable.

Responsibilities

• Capability assessment of new and existing suppliers and development of global and regional sourcing strategies.
• Identify and select suppliers meeting criteria to support HYG’s objectives for quality, delivery, cost.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that support corporate objectives.
• Manage relationships with allocated suppliers to support HYG.
• Negotiate multi-year pricing agreements with suppliers.
• Cost planning and control: negotiate and approve supplier proposals, pricing, terms and conditions.
• Formulate strategies and corrective action plans for quality and delivery issues.
• Resolve issues between suppliers and HYG plants, product development centres and departments.
• Proactive re-sourcing of materials or supplier replacement when plant performance is affected.
• Manage tooling budget to support new product development and cost reduction programs.
• Material planning and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Advance analytics— hands-on experience in Power BI and AI techniques.
