Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy is seeking a Process Safety professional to assess chemical reaction hazards, validate findings with R&D, and define safe operating conditions. The role involves hazard identification across processes, communicating with stakeholders, and maintaining safety data records.

You will lead a safety team, plan lab work, and ensure SOPs and audits are followed, aiming for high professional standards and accurate data interpretation.

Qualifications

• Hazard assessment reports for chemical reactions validated by R&D Process Safety head.
• Ability to examine processes and plants for potential hazards and define safe operation.
• Communicate process development and safety improvements with stakeholders.
• Maintain safety equipment and ensure timely data generation.
• Record work and data in electronic formats / lab notebooks.
• Explore alternative hazard identification techniques and problem solving.
• Lead and coach process safety team to higher performance.
• Plan and control safety lab work to meet targets.
• Identify scenarios that could cause injuries or environmental pollution and mitigate them.
• Provide input on safety data for new process development.
• Ensure timely reporting of safety data while improving data interpretation.
• Generate and maintain SOPs; ensure audits and compliance.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare Chemical reaction Hazard assessment reports to disseminate the information after validation from R & D Process Safety head.
• Examine processes and plants for potential process hazards, in order to define safe conditions of operation.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders regarding process development / improvement initiatives to ensure that all factors are taken into account
• To ensure maintenance and smooth running of process safety equipment's to eliminate delays in data generation.
• Ensure all work and information is recorded in an electronic format/Lab note book.
• Process technology and development initiatives to explore alternative techniques of hazard identification and alternative options to problem resolution and to enable novel problems to be solved.
• Lead, develop, train and coach Process safety team members to improve their performance and achieve higher professional standards.
• Plan and control safety lab work and semi-technical work in order to meet agreed targets.
• Understand and avoid scenarios, incidents that puts oneself as well as others to injuries /illness and Environment pollution
• Provide input to the process development community on safety data and assessment for new process development
• Ensure that the process hazards lab generates and reports required safety data in a timely manner, while exploring / supporting new ways of working to improve efficiency and precision of data / interpretation
• Generation and maintenance of work instructions/SOP, compliance with audits etc.
