Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a skilled process safety engineer in Bengaluru to lead HAZOP/LOPA workshops and safety studies. You will review P&IDs, define SIL requirements, and work with process, instrument, mechanical, operations, and safety teams to ensure compliant design and risk reduction.

You should have 8–12 years in upstream/refining/petrochemical, with hands-on PHA tool experience and strong knowledge of IEC 61508/61511 concepts.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years in upstream/refining/petrochemical domains.
• Knowledge of Plant operation and Process Safety Studies.
• Experience with PSM studies in Refining, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, LNG, Chemical, or Upstream facilities.
• Hands-on experience as a HAZOP/LOPA Scribe using PHA-Pro/AE Facilitator software.
• Experience supporting HAZOP, What-If, Checklist, BowTie, SIL and LOPA studies.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, PFDs, Cause & Effect diagrams, Operating Philosophy and Design Basis documents.

Key Responsibilities

Work Experience

Relevant Experience Required

• Chemical engineering or equivalent degree is required.
• 08-12 years’ experience with upstream / refining / petrochemical domain. Knowledge of Plant operation/Process Safety Study. Risk Ranking and the experience must be focused on Process Hazard Analysis
• Experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) studies in Refining, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, LNG, Chemical, or Upstream facilities.
• Hands-on experience as a HAZOP/LOPA Scribe using PHA-Pro/ AE Facilitator software.
• Experience supporting HAZOP, What-If, Checklist, BowTie, SIL, and LOPA studies.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, PFDs, Cause & Effect diagrams, Operating Philosophy, and Design Basis documents.
• Experience in documenting study findings, recommendations, and action tracking.
• Exposure to brownfield and greenfield projects.
• Experience in data migration and management of PHA databases

Mandatory Skills

• Experienced process engineer who has significant experience in process and process safety engineering HAZOP facilitation/scribing
• Good knowledge of LOPA calculations and IPL identification
• Knowledge of SIL, SIF (IEC 61508 / 61511)
• Must have Familiarity with PHA tools
• Understanding of P&IDs, PFDs, Cause & Effect
• Understanding of all basic steps for HAZOP LOPA studies
• Data Migration and on PHA tool

PHA-Pro /AE Facilitator Expertise

• Proficient in PHA-Pro or similar software.
• Report generation and formatting.
• Data import/export and migration between studies.
• Recommendation tracking and closure management
