Job description

Process Excellence / Industrial Engineer - Quality & Continuous Improvement

Experience: 1-3 Years

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech - Mechanical / Industrial / Production / Electronics / Mechatronics

Industry Preference: EMS / Electronics Manufacturing / Automotive / Manufacturing

NewJaisa Technologies is a technology-driven company specializing in laptop remanufacturing and refurbishment. We process laptops through multiple stages including inward inspection, component-level testing, repair, refurbishment, assembly, functional testing, quality inspection and dispatch.

As we scale, we are strengthening our Process Excellence & Engineering function to make our processes more robust, data-driven and sustainable.

We are looking for a hands-on Process Excellence / Industrial Engineer who can work directly with our shop floor and engineering teams to identify problems, eliminate root causes, reduce process rejections and customer complaints, and establish controls that prevent recurring issues.

This is not a documentation-only role. The person will be expected to go to the shop floor, analyse data, investigate failures, implement improvements and measure the results.

Key Responsibilities
1. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Study existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in quality, productivity, cost and turnaround time.
  • Map processes and identify value-added, non-value-added and failure points.
  • Conduct time studies, process studies and line/process balancing wherever required.
  • Drive Lean, Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and improve SOPs, Work Instructions, Process Control Plans and check sheets.
  • Analyse customer complaints, FQC rejections, internal failures, rework and repeat failures.
  • Develop Pareto analysis to identify the highest-impact failure modes.
  • Conduct RCA using 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D and other structured problem-solving methods.
  • Work with Engineering, Quality, Production and other teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Verify the effectiveness of CAPA and ensure problems do not recur.
3. Process Control & Sustainability
  • Establish appropriate process metrics, CTQs, targets and control mechanisms.
  • Monitor process performance and identify deviations before they become customer issues.
  • Build systems to ensure that improvements remain effective after implementation.
  • Conduct periodic process audits and verify adherence to defined standards.
  • Identify opportunities for Poka-Yoke, automation and error-proofing.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Track key operational and quality metrics such as:
  • First Pass Yield
  • Rework
  • Customer complaints
  • TAT
  • Convert data into actionable insights and improvement projects.
  • Prepare dashboards and management reports using Excel / Power BI or similar tools.
  • Identify trends and proactively highlight potential quality risks.
5. Cross-Functional Problem Solving
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, NPD, Inventory and Service teams.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects from problem identification through implementation and validation.
  • Ensure process changes are properly documented, trained and implemented across relevant processes.
  • Support technical investigations and provide data-driven recommendations to management.
What We Are Looking For
Must Have
  • 1-3 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Improvement or Operational Excellence.
  • Experience in EMS, electronics manufacturing, automotive or other structured manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • 5 Why
  • Fishbone
  • CAPA
  • 8D
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Process Control
  • SOP / Work Instructions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent Excel skills and ability to work with operational data.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Willingness to spend significant time on the shop floor.
Good to Have
  • Knowledge of PFMEA / FMEA and Control Plans.
  • VSM / Process Mapping.
  • Time Study / Work Measurement.
  • SPC / basic statistical analysis.
  • Power BI.
  • Minitab or similar analytical tools.
  • Basic understanding of electronics / laptop hardware.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who doesn't just identify problems but owns the problem until the improvement is sustained.

For example:

Problem: Customer complaints due to battery performance

→ Horizontally deploy the solution

The candidate should be comfortable asking:

"What is the problem?" → "Why is it happening?" → "What is the root cause?" → "What should we change?" → "How do we prove it worked?" → "How do we ensure it doesn't come back?"

What You Will Get
  • Opportunity to work on real manufacturing and quality problems at scale.
  • Direct exposure to Engineering, Quality and Operations.
  • Ownership of improvement projects with measurable business impact.
  • Opportunity to build and implement Lean and Process Excellence systems from the ground up.
  • High learning exposure across electronics, laptop hardware, refurbishment, quality and operations.
  • Direct visibility of your work on customer complaints, rejection, productivity and operational performance.
Key Success Metrics

Your success in this role will ultimately be measured by:

  • Reduction in customer complaints
  • Reduction in repeat failures
  • Improvement in First Pass Yield
  • Reduction in rework
  • Process adherence

If you are someone who enjoys solving real problems, working with data, going to the shop floor and making processes better — we would love to hear from you.
