Job summary

Alstom in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to lead manufacturing process improvements and industrialization activities. You will work with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure QCD targets are met and to drive continuous improvement across projects.

The role requires an engineering degree and 5–10 years of experience in process engineering, PFMEA, time/method studies, and APQP. CAD/PLM tools experience and knowledge of ERP systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required.
• 5–10 years in manufacturing process engineering, design validation of Jigs & Fixtures, methods engineering, PFMEA, Time Study, Method Study, and Process documentation.
• Familiarity with NPI Stage-Gate processes (APQP is a must).
• Knowledge of general assembly processes, electrical equipment assembly.
• Lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma tools.
• Experience with CAD and PLM tools (e.g., CATIA, DELMIA) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Proficiency in quality standards, EHS requirements, and ergonomics.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Shift: General Shift.

• Take on a new challenge and apply manufacturing and process engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure industrial processes are designed and implemented to meet QCD objectives and drive continuous improvement across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and quality.
• Lead industrialization planning, process documentation, and tooling readiness, and drive ergonomic improvements while managing DELMIA deliverables for Coimbatore projects.

Your future role

• Take on a new challenge and apply your manufacturing and process engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
• You’ll ensure that industrial processes are designed and implemented to meet the project’s quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) objectives, while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality), lead process validation activities, and much more.
• You’ll specifically take care of industrialization planning, process documentation, and tooling readiness, but also drive ergonomic improvements and manage DELMIA deliverables for Coimbatore projects.

• Ensuring industrial requirements are integrated into product design through design reviews and concurrent engineering.
• Developing and implementing global macro processes based on standard manufacturing practices.
• Preparing and validating new technologies, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.
• Managing industrialization activities, including PFMEA, process documentation, and first article inspections.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve manufacturing QCD targets.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective change management and feedback integration.
