Job summary

Sudarshan Chemical in Roha, Maharashtra, India seeks an experienced process engineer to drive KRAs, lead continuous improvements, and manage new projects that enhance quality, yield, and production output. The role requires ensuring compliance with QMS, EHS, and regulatory standards.

You will support NPD from feasibility analysis to pilot plant trials and main plant scale up, coordinating with the CFT to implement modifications and optimize manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in process engineering in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong track record in scale-up, pilot plants and new product development (NPD).
• Familiarity with QMS, EHS regulations and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering KRAs and drive continuous improvements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support NPD from feasibility to scale-up.
• Identify modification needs for new product scale-up during plant walk-throughs.
• Recommend process modifications based on lab results and scale-up feasibility.
• Conduct lab experiments on crystallization, filtration, drying, and powder handling.
• Perform what-if analyses before scale-up and document learnings.
• Prepare pilot trial and scale-up reports with recommendations.
• Create key manufacturing documents: BPR, PFD, P&ID, batch cycle time, etc.
• Support team capability development and arrange training as needed.

Job description

Experience: 10-15 Years

Job Purpose:

• Drive process engineering KRAs, lead continuous improvements, manage new projects, and support new product development to enhance quality, yield, and production output while ensuring compliance with QMS, EHS, and regulatory standards.

Duties/Responsibilities/Activities:

• Partner with CFT and contribute to NPD process in all the phases from a process engineering perspective starting from feasibility analysis, design study, prototype development to pilot plant trials and main plant scale up.
• To conduct walk through visit at plant and identify modification requirement for new product scale up.
• Recommend modification to laboratory processes (synthesis, surface treatments etc.) post lab experimentation based on scale up feasibility, manufacturability and EHS compliance.
• To conduct experiments in lab pertains to crystallization, filtration, drying, powder processing and get the correlation study for scale up batch.
• To conduct what if experiment prior to the scale up.
• Review & guide Root Cause Analysis as key member of NPD cross functional team and advise on any process deviations observed during pilot plant trial batch and main plant trial batch.
• To prepare pilot trial report and scale up campaign report by capturing learning and recommendations.
• Preparation of key master documents like Batch production record, PFD, P&ID, Batch cycle time, HAZOP, Material balance, utility load etc.

People Management

• Provide support for team capability development and engagement to meet functional objectives.
• Assist in identifying training needs and arranging internal/external training sessions for the team.
