Job summary

Madras Engineering Industries PVT LTD in Chennai is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize CNC turning and VMC processes. You will create and verify CNC programs to meet cycle time and quality targets, and design fixtures and tooling for new and existing products.

You will select cutting tools and machining parameters to improve productivity and tool life, prepare process sheets and standard work, and support APQP, PPAP and production trials.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering
• 4–10 years of relevant experience
• Experience in CNC turning and VMC programming is essential

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CNC turning and VMC machining processes.
• Create and validate CNC programs to meet cycle time and quality targets.
• Design fixtures, jigs, and tooling for new and existing products.
• Select cutting tools and machining parameters to improve productivity and tool life.
• Prepare process sheets, setup instructions, and standard work documents.
• Support APQP, PPAP, and production trials.
• Analyze process capability and implement improvements to reduce cycle time and costs.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room for improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize machining processes for CNC Turning and VMC operations.
• Create, prove-out, and optimize CNC programs to achieve cycle time and quality targets.
• Design and develop fixtures, jigs, and tooling for new and existing products.
• Select cutting tools, inserts, and machining parameters to improve productivity and tool life.
• Prepare process sheets, setup instructions, SOPs, and standard work documents.
• Support new product development (APQP), PPAP, and production trials.
• Analyze process capability and implement improvements to reduce cycle time, rejection, and manufacturing cost.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room for process improvements and troubleshooting.
