Job summary

Valmet Technologies Private Limited in Chennai seeks a Process Engineer to strengthen our Pulp & Energy Project Execution team. You will support Recovery and Fibre line technologies for pulp and paper, and eco-friendly power boilers, collaborating with Lead process engineers and other disciplines.

Based in Chennai, you will work on sales, customer orders, and development projects, drawing P&ID diagrams, piping specs, and data in COMOS, AutoCAD, and Adobe Illustrator, while traveling occasionally.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in thermal or process engineering.
• Experience in similar role in industry.
• Proficient with industrial engineering tools.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Draw P&ID diagrams and process lists in COMOS.
• Specify piping requirements and pipe sizing.
• Provide initial data for other disciplines in COMOS.
• Assist equipment dimensioning and process flows.
• Support sales and project teams with PFDs in AutoCAD and Illustrator.

Job description

We are now looking for a Process Engineerto strengthen our team of professionals in Pulp & Energy Business Unit’s Project Execution organization.

As a Process engineer you will support our different technologies within the Recovery and Fibre line technologies for Pulp and Paper industry, as well as environmentally friendly power boilers for demanding fuels. You will work closely with Lead process engineers but also support other disciplines within Valmet. The role includes involvement in sales projects, customer order projects, and development projects, requiring effective collaboration across functions and a strong understanding of industrial process systems. In this position you will be based in Chennai.

Key responsibilities include:

• Drawing and managing P&I diagrams and process lists in Comos.
• Specification of piping requirements and pipe dimensioning.
• Providing initial data within comos for other disciplines, primarily piping and E&I engineering.
• Collaboration in equipment dimensioning.
• Providing technical support and flow diagrams for commissioning and sales projects.
• Support sales engineers with PFD´s in AutoCAD and adobe illustrator.

Requirements:

• Technical engineering education, preferably in thermal or process engineering.
• Previous experience in a similar position within the industry.
• Proficiency in using industrial engineering tools.
• Good communication skills and a result-oriented and customer-focused mindset.
• Systematic approach to problem-solving.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Fluency in English, both Verbal and written.
• Knowledge of Comos, Autocad and Adobe Illustrator or other P&I engineering database.
