Job summary

Birla Carbon is seeking a Process Development Engineer/Scientist to drive process innovation across its global manufacturing network. You will develop and optimize process technologies, design trials, and support product development while advancing sustainability and safety objectives.

The role requires a strong background in chemical engineering or related fields, 5+ years of experience for Bachelor level, and willingness for international travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, Master's with 3+ years, or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
• Experience in process development, process engineering, R&D, manufacturing, or pilot plant operations.
• Exposure to petrochemical, combustion, aerosol, or related industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvement and technology development initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and cost competitiveness.
• Design, plan, execute, and analyze laboratory, pilot-scale, and plant trials.
• Identify and resolve critical manufacturing and process-related issues.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business needs.
• Support new product development and commercialization efforts.
• Contribute to long‑term technology roadmaps, sustainability initiatives, and intellectual property development.
• Collaborate with global R&D, Manufacturing, HS&E, and Technology teams.
