Job summary

Combustion Research Associates in India seeks a senior process engineer to lead the process engineering team, own design of orders after award, and approve deliverables.

You will drive improvements to existing designs and contribute to new product development, leveraging extensive chemical engineering and combustion expertise to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Qualifications

Job Summary

You will lead CRA's process engineering team. You own the process design of every order after award, and approve all process deliverables before they are issued. You also drive improvements to CRA's existing designs and the development of new products. Job Type: Full time.

Responsibilities

• Lead CRA's process engineering team.
• Own the process design of every order after award, and approve all process deliverables before they are issued.
• Drive improvements to CRA's existing designs and the development of new products.

Requirements

• B.E. or B.Tech in Chemical Engineering. An M.Tech is an advantage.
• 10 years or more in process engineering, including at least 3 years leading or checking the work of other engineers.
• Process design experience on combustion or gas handling equipment, such as flares, thermal oxidisers, incinerators, burners, scrubbers, gas treatment or compression packages.
• Hands-on with heat and mass balances, combustion calculations, hydraulics, line sizing, relief sizing and instrument sizing.
• Has produced and approved P&IDs, process datasheets, control philosophies and cause-and-effect matrices.
• Has led HAZOPs or taken an active part in them.
• Working knowledge of API 521, API 537 and the NFPA standards that apply to combustion and relief systems.
• Comfortable using AI tools in engineering work, and rigorous about checking their output.
• A clear communicator who can explain design decisions to clients and colleagues, and who takes ownership of outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience at an equipment manufacturer or packager, not only on the EPC or owners side.
• New product development or design improvement work.
• Biogas, CBG or landfill gas projects.
• Process simulation in HYSYS or similar.
• International projects and codes.
