Job summary

Worley in India is seeking a experienced Process Designer to deliver detailed design drawings for process facilities. You will draft and review BFDs, PFDs and P&IDs, translate engineering concepts into drawings, and ensure compliance with project standards.

You'll use SPID, AutoCAD, MicroStation, COMOS, CADWorx, Aveva Diagram and OpenPlant PID to create cohesive outputs, maintain document control, and collaborate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, and piping teams to meet schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in process design and drafting.
• Strong expertise in PFD and P&ID development.
• Understand process engineering, equipment layouts and piping systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review BFDs, PFDs and P&ID drawings.
• Translate process concepts into detailed design drawings.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
• Create designs using SPID, AutoCAD, MicroStation, COMOS, CADWorx, Aveva Diagram, OpenPlant PID.
• Maintain drawing databases and document control.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Piping teams.
• Integrate inputs from multiple disciplines into cohesive designs.
• Ensure timely deliverables within project schedules.
• Perform drawing checks against project standards and guidelines.

The Role

As a Process Designer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

• Draft and review:
  • Block Flow Diagrams (BFD).
  • Process Flow Diagrams (PFD).
  • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Translate process engineering concepts and calculations into detailed design drawings.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, client requirements, and industry standards.
• Create and manage designs using:
  • Smart Plant P&ID (SPID)
  • AutoCAD.
  • MicroStation.
  • COMOS.
  • CAD Worx.
  • Aveva Diagram.
  • Open Plant PID.
• Maintain drawing databases and ensure proper documentation control.
• Collaborate with:
  • Process Engineers.
  • Mechanical, Instrumentation, and Piping teams.
• Integrate inputs from various disciplines into cohesive design outputs.
• Ensure timely completion of deliverables within project schedules.
• Perform drawing checks and ensure compliance with:
  • Project standards.
  • Company and client-specific guidelines.
• Maintain high-quality drafting standards and consistency.
• Maintain accurate records of design revisions and updates.
• Support engineering change management and document control processes.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

• Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Chemical preferred).
• 10+ years of relevant experience in process design and drafting.
• Strong expertise in PFD and P&ID development.
• Good understanding of:
  • Process engineering principles.
  • Equipment layouts and piping systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
