Job summary

PeopleStrong in India (Tamil Nadu, Chennai) seeks an experienced Process Engineer to lead RO desalination project design and related water treatment systems. The role involves preparing preliminary process designs, PFD/ P&ID, and control strategies, with frequent collaboration with PLC engineers on FAT/SAT.

The candidate should have a BTech and hands-on experience in pretreatment, RO, UF/Membrane design, and vendor document evaluation, with willingness to travel to various project sites as

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary process designs for RO desalination plants and related systems.
• Develop PFD, P&ID, HFD, and electrical load lists with calculations.
• Define control philosophy and O&M manuals for project execution.
• Collaborate with PLC engineers on FAT and SAT.
• Participate in technical meetings, prepare MOM, and coordinate with clients.
• Evaluate vendor documents for technical clarity and vendor comparisons.
• Travel to project sites as required to support execution.

Job Description

1. 1.Experience in Process design & engineering related to Industrial Projects.
2. 2.Preparation of preliminary Process design for: Oil removal system(API, TPI and DAF) , Biological Treatment(SBR, ASP, MBBR and MBR) Pretreatment (includes Lamella, DAFF, Media filters, Ultra- filtration, etc. ), Reverse Osmosis (includes Brackish water, Sea water and Wastewater), Chemical dosing system, Sludge treatment (includes Centrifuge, Filter press, Thickener, etc. ), Conventional DM Plant, CPU and Evaporator.
3. 3.Selection of process technology based on the feedwater characteristic and capable of doing the process calculations, membrane selection, filters selection etc. Hydraulic calculation, pressure drop calculation, line sizing ,Preparation of layout, PFD, P&ID, HFD, electrical load list and power consumption at different at different conditions with respect to tender/Contract guaranteed parameters.
4. 4.Prepare enquiry documents (RFQ), scopes of work, datasheets, etc for valves, pumps and other engineering items with proper selections required for RO desalination projects.
5. 5.Preparation of Control philosophy, O&M manual for the execution of the project.
6. 6.To interact closely with PLC engineer to help in logic development for FAT and SAT.
7. 7.Participation in technical meetings, decision making, preparing MOM and coordination with the clients.
8. 8.To prepare technical evaluation and comparison of documents furnished by different manufacturers and get the technical clarity from the vendor independently.
9. 9.Candidates should be flexible to travel long term / short term to various project sites and client / consultant offices based on the project requirement for document approval and resolution of site technical issues during execution.

12. 12.Proficiency in RO membrane design and UF membrane design with vendor software (Wave, IMS Design, Toray DS, Inge etc)
