HUBER+SUHNER Polatis seeks an Automation Process Engineer to develop and improve high‑precision automated assembly processes and transfer them to manufacturing. The role collaborates with design and production teams across two plants to deliver scalable capacity and yields.

You will drive equipment development, process specification, and hands‑on process support while utilizing Six Sigma, LEAN, Industry 4.0, and BI/SPC tools to optimize quality and costs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in automated assembly environments.
• Engineering degree or higher in an engineering field.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma, LEAN manufacturing methodologies, and Industry 4.0 technologies including BI and SPC tools.
• Experience programming electro‑mechanical control systems.
• Experience in sequencing software and control systems.
• Able to conceptualize assembly and automation methods and understand interactions between components, processes and product performance.

Responsibilities

• Development, transfer to manufacturing and continuous improvement of automated assembly equipment to provide improved capacity, quality, yields and cost.
• Hands-on technical support of automated processes at manufacturing location.
• Specification of new equipment and development of new processes, including collaboration with equipment vendors.

Join the HUBER+SUHNER Polatis team and support the development of automated assembly processes in a production environment!

We are currently looking for experienced Automation Process Engineer. The role supports the development and continuous improvement of high precision automated assembly processes, the transfer to manufacturing of processes and products, and the technical support of the assembly processes in manufacturing. The aim being to deliver improved capacity scalability and yields. The role works very closely with our design teams and production engineering slice and switch teams. Automation Process Engineer involves work across 2 manufacturing plants (Nawojowa G ra and Pisary). Key tasks:

• Development, transfer to manufacturing and continuous improvement of automated assembly equipment to provide improved capacity, quality, yields and cost
• Hands-on technical support of automated processes at manufacturing location
• Specification of new equipment and development of new processes, including co-working with assembly equipment vendors
• Performing assessment of new equipment and processes
• Project management support for new processes and equipment introduction

Requirements:

• Educated in an engineering subject to degree level
• 3+ years experience in automated assembly environments
• Familiarity with 6 Sigma, LEAN manufacturing methodologies, and Industry 4.0 technologies, including BI and SPC tools
• Experience in programming electro-mechanical control systems
• Experience in sequencing software and control systems
• Proven ability to develop new assembly processes and to transfer the processes to manufacturing
• Able to conceptualize assembly and automation methods and to understand interactions between components, processes and product performance
• Ability to read automatic, pneumatic and electrical diagrams
• Very good spoken and written English
• Able to deploy numerical, experimental and statistical problem-solving abilities
