Job summary

HARTING Technology Group in Chennai District, India, is seeking a seasoned Process Design Engineer to design and implement injection molding and wiring harness processes. You will collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize parts for manufacturability, and develop comprehensive process documentation and troubleshooting guides.

The role requires 5+ years in injection molding, especially PC, with strong mechanical skills, troubleshooting ability, and leadership to drive process

Qualifications

B.E Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required.
5+ years of injection molding experience, especially with PC.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Direct knowledge and application of scientific molding principles.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

Design and implement injection molding and wiring harness processes for new and existing products.
Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize part designs for manufacturability.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and troubleshooting guides.
Lead projects to improve molding processes, including cycle time, scrap reduction, and process qualification.
Assist in setup, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of injection molding equipment.
Ensure all processes meet technical requirements and exceed customer expectations.
Support safety, quality, and productivity metrics and goals.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Process Design and Implementation: Design and implement injection molding & wiring harness processes for new and existing products.
Collaboration: Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to optimize part designs for manufacturability.
Documentation: Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and troubleshooting guides.
Process Improvement: Lead projects to improve molding processes, including cycle time efficiency, scrap reduction, and process qualification.
Tooling and Equipment: Assist in the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of injection molding equipment.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all processes meet technical requirements and exceed customer expectations.
Safety and Compliance: Support and report on all company and departmental safety, quality, and productivity metrics and goals. Required Skills and Experience:
Education: B.E Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in injection molding, particularly with PC
Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; direct knowledge and application of scientific molding principles.
Soft Skills: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment; strong communication and leadership skills.
