Job summary

Datacultr is hiring a PCB Design Engineer in Gurugram, India to take ownership from schematic capture through fabrication-ready Gerbers for compact, ruggedized boards used in edge-deployed systems.

You will collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams, use Altium Designer and Fusion 360, and design power delivery networks, high-speed traces, and EMI/ESD protections while managing BOMs and liaising with CM partners.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in PCB design and embedded hardware development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Altium Designer (schematic + PCB layout).
• Working knowledge of Fusion 360 for mechanical/electro-mechanical co-design.
• Solid grasp of analog/digital circuit design fundamentals — power regulation, signal integrity, grounding/shielding.
• Experience with component selection, datasheets, and sourcing (Mouser/Digikey/Octopart).
• Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and PCB fabrication constraints.
• Comfortable reading and debugging with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Design multi-layer PCBs in Altium Designer, from schematic capture to layout, routing, and DFM/DFA checks.
• Select components balancing cost, availability, and performance.
• Design power delivery networks, high-speed traces, EMI/ESD protection.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering using Fusion 360 for enclosure fit and thermal considerations.
• Use CircuitMaker or equivalent for early-stage schematic prototyping/collaboration.
• Generate and validate BOMs, Gerbers, pick-and-place files, and fab documentation.
• Work with contract manufacturers for prototyping, bring-up, and troubleshooting.
• Support bring-up and debug of assembled boards with instruments.
• Maintain design revision history and documentation standards.

The Role

We are looking for a PCB Design Engineer — from schematic capture through fabrication-ready Gerbers. You'll work closely with firmware and mechanical teams on compact, ruggedized, sensor-heavy boards for edge-deployed systems.

Core Responsibilitie s

• Design multi-layer PCBs in Altium Designer, from schematic capture to layout, routing, and DFM/DFA checks
• Select components (MOSFETs, MCUs, RF modules, sensors, power regulators) balancing cost, availability, and performance
• Design power delivery networks, signal integrity-critical traces (high-speed, RF, analog), and EMI/ESD protection
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering using Fusion 360 for enclosure fit, thermal considerations, and 3D board-in-box validation
• Use CircuitMaker or equivalent for early-stage schematic prototyping/collaboration where applicable
• Generate and validate BOMs, Gerbers, pick-and-place files, and fab/assembly documentation
• Work with contract manufacturers (CMs) for prototyping, bring-up, and troubleshooting
• Support bring-up and debug of assembled boards (multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
• Maintain design revision history and documentation standards

Key Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in PCB design and embedded hardware development
• Strong hands-on experience with Altium Designer (schematic + PCB layout)
• Working knowledge of Fusion 360 for mechanical/electro-mechanical co-design
• Solid grasp of analog/digital circuit design fundamentals — power regulation, signal integrity, grounding/shielding
• Experience with component selection, datasheets, and sourcing (Mouser/Digikey/Octopart)
• Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and PCB fabrication constraints

Good to Have

• Experience with RF/antenna design or GSM/LTE modules
• Familiarity with CircuitMaker or similar schematic capture tools
• Exposure to ESP32/embedded MCU-based product design
• Familiarity with UART/I2C/SPI protocol-level integration and OEM protocol design
• Prior experience in defence-tech, IoT, or ruggedized product environments
• Basic firmware literacy (C/C++) to collaborate effectively with embedded teams
