Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise-scale applications.
• Strong experience building modern web apps using React.js.
• Extensive experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Deep AWS expertise including EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, RDS.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems.

We are looking for an exceptional Principal Staff Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of highly scalable, cloud-native applications. This role requires a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in full-stack development, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to influence engineering direction across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop scalable, high-performance full-stack applications using Node.js and React.js.
• Lead the design and implementation of distributed, cloud-native systems on AWS.
• Drive technical architecture decisions and establish engineering best practices across teams.
• Build secure, resilient, and highly available backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Design and optimize relational databases with MySQL, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Identify and resolve complex performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Evaluate and introduce modern technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns to improve product quality and engineering productivity.
• Champion DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and cloud best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with significant experience in building enterprise-scale applications.
• Strong experience building modern web applications using React.js.
• Extensive experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Deep expertise in AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, SQS/SNS, and related cloud-native services.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, design patterns, and distributed systems.
• Expert-level experience with MySQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, replication, and performance tuning.
• Experience with caching technologies such as Redis.
• Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and message queues.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent understanding of security, scalability, availability, and performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.
• Exposure to Graph Databases such as Neo4j.
• Experience with GraphQL.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with event streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled applications or Generative AI integrations.
