Job summary

SimCorp is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Investment Operations Product Area. You will work in a self-organized scrum team, developing and supporting enterprise products while collaborating across multiple European and global teams.

Strong Azure, C#, and Angular expertise, plus a drive to learn new finance tech, are essential. You will prototype, specify requirements, and craft robust test strategies, contributing to architecture and automation improvements in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Extensive expertise in Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps.
• 10+ years of experience in C# and Angular.
• Willingness to learn APL.
• Proficient in testing strategies (E2E, API, UT).
• Rich experience with Cloud Infrastructures.
• M.Sc. in Finance, CS, Math or similar (nice to have).
• Curiosity and readiness to learn in-house tools and frameworks.
• Understanding XP practices (TDD, pair-programming).
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design.
• Experience with SQL databases.
• Ability to mentor and lead teams; strong English skills.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

You will be a member of a self-organized scrum team consisting of software engineers, who collaborate closely with business experts. The team is responsible for developing and supporting a set of enterprise products within the Collateral Product Area. You are expected to interact with colleagues from Ukraine, Poland, Denmark, Austria, and Germany. After a comprehensive onboarding program, we expect you to:

• Design, develop, and test solutions for a new product capability.
• Translate business goals and user needs into product opportunities with clear value hypotheses.
• Prototype solutions early and often - directly, to validate ideas before committing to full build
• Write and review technical requirements and acceptance criteria that leave no ambiguity at implementation time.
• Create and implement test strategy to ensure high quality of the product.
• Closely communicate and collaborate with Teams, Product Owners, and Architects follow and ensure architecture/technical roadmap guidelines.
• Create and analyze functional and non-functional requirements during feature refinements.
• Ensure effective product support and proactively minimize it
• Initiate technical and process enhancements in the team.
• Initiate and drive improvement of automation, tools, frameworks, etc.
• Work as a full stack developer, both front-end and back-end (SOA).
• Maintain a healthy, prioritized product backlog - each item sized, scoped, and ready for the team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Extensive expertise in Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps , with the ability to develop and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Extensive knowledge and experience (10+ years) in C# and Angular.
• Readiness to learn APL. [Must Have].
• Proficient in both manual and automated testing, with the ability to design and implement comprehensive test strategies and all level tests for software applications (E2E, API, UT).
• Rich experience with Cloud Infrastructures.
• M.Sc. in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics or a similar field (will be a plus).
• Curiosity and readiness to learn and improve in-house tools and frameworks
• Understanding and adherence to XP practices (TDD, pair-programming etc.)
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL).
• Ability to mentor, motivate, and guide a team toward technical excellence and efficient delivery
• Good English skills (upper intermediate and higher), written as well as spoken

AI-Enabled Development

• Use AI tools (Copilot, Claude, and others) fluently as part of your everyday working routines.
• Critically evaluate AI-generated artifacts - verify correctness and architectural fit before accepting.
• Guide your team on responsible AI usage: when to trust it, when to override it, and how to review it carefully
• Identify where AI can accelerate prototyping cycles and reduce low-value work in the team.
