Job summary

Mott MacDonald in India is seeking a Water/Wastewater Process Engineer with consultancy exposure to work on international projects. You will design WWTP processes, produce technical deliverables, and support bids while coordinating with the lead office within a global engineering team.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, strong communication, and a proactive, self-motivated approach in a permanent, full-time arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Undertake process design of Waste Water Treatment Plants and water systems.
• Produce technical deliverables including schedules, data sheets, and engineering calculations.
• Develop specifications for engineering subcontracts.
• Collaborate with supply chain and perform technical bid analysis.
• Oversee key outputs: process calculations, hydraulics, unit processes, data sheets.
• Communicate effectively to ensure technical excellence is understood and implemented.
• Escalate time/cost/quality risks before they occur.
• Support H&S excellence and safe design in line with CDM regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Undertake process design of Waste Water Treatment Plants and water systems.
• Be responsible to produce technical deliverables required these include, but are not limited to:
• Technical schedules and data sheets.
• Engineering calculations (hydraulic calculations, pump calculations, mass balance calculation etc.).
• Particular specifications for engineering subcontracts.
• Working closely with the supply chain and performing technical bid analysis of their designs.
• Oversee key outputs including process calculations, hydraulics, unit processes, pump calculations, capacity calculations, data sheets and technical bid analysis of 3rd party process equipment.
• Communicate effectively at all relevant levels to ensure that the need to deliver technical excellence is understood and implemented.
• Escalate issues that may impact on time/cost/quality before they become problems or exceed agreed timescales.
• Support the drive towards excellence in H&S, demonstrating applied knowledge and skills to produce safe designs to discharge your obligation according to CDM Regulations, standards, and accepted codes of practice.
• Maintain close links with other Engineering teams to ensure smooth interfaces between disciplines; manage gaps/overlaps & share best practice.

Candidate Specification

• Degree in Chemical / Environmental Engineering from accredited university with good relevant work experience Relevant experience in a consultancy organisation for Water Sector.
• Exposure to International projects
• Ability to work in on one's own with lead office as part of integrated team
• Very good written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivated with keen interest to learn new skills and add value to the team/organisation
