Job summary

Mott MacDonald in India is seeking a Chemical/Environmental Engineer to lead process design of Waste Water Treatment Plants and water systems within a multidisciplinary team.

You will deliver technical schedules, data sheets, and hydraulic/mass-balance calculations, review subcontract specifications, and analyse 3rd party equipment designs in collaboration with supply chain.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience in a consultancy for Water Sector.
• Exposure to international projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake process design of Waste Water Treatment Plants and water systems.
• Produce technical deliverables including schedules, data sheets, and calculations.
• Perform hydraulic, pump, and mass balance calculations; prepare specifications.
• Work with supply chain and analyze technical bids from designs.
• Ensure safe designs and compliance with CDM regulations.
• Maintain interfaces with other engineering teams and manage gaps.

Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Undertake process design of Waste Water Treatment Plants and water systems.
• Be responsible to produce technical deliverables required these include, but are not limited to:
  • Technical schedules and data sheets.
  • Engineering calculations (hydraulic calculations, pump calculations, mass balance calculation etc.).
  • Particular specifications for engineering subcontracts.
  • Working closely with the supply chain and performing technical bid analysis of their designs.
  • Oversee key outputs including process calculations, hydraulics, unit processes, pump calculations, capacity calculations, data sheets and technical bid analysis of 3rd party process equipment.
• Communicate effectively at all relevant levels to ensure that the need to deliver technical excellence is understood and implemented.
• Escalate issues that may impact on time/cost/quality before they become problems or exceed agreed timescales.
• Support the drive towards excellence in H&S, demonstrating applied knowledge and skills to produce safe designs to discharge your obligation according to CDM Regulations, standards, and accepted codes of practice.
• Maintain close links with other Engineering teams to ensure smooth interfaces between disciplines; manage gaps/overlaps & share best practice.

Candidate Specification

• Degree in Chemical / Environmental Engineering from accredited university with good relevant work experience. Relevant experience in a consultancy organisation for Water Sector.
• Exposure to International projects.
• Ability to work in on one's own with lead office as part of integrated team.
• Very good written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated with keen interest to learn new skills and add value to the team/organization.
