Job summary

Worley is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to lead flow assurance for offshore oil and gas projects. Based in Hyderabad, you will guide multidisciplinary teams, deliver concept through detailed engineering, and ensure compliance with API/ASME/ISO standards.

You will mentor junior engineers, optimize process designs, run simulations (OLGA/ASPEN), develop PFDs and P&IDs, and support proposal activities. 18+ years of offshore experience and a chemical engineering degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 18+ years in process engineering, offshore exposure.
• FEED and detailed engineering experience required.
• Knowledge of API/ASME/ISO standards and process safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead flow assurance deliverables for offshore projects, from concept to detailed engineering.
• Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, and process calculations.
• Perform simulations, heat and mass balances, and optimization studies.
• Prepare design basis, philosophies and specifications.
• Conduct or support HAZID, HAZOP and SIL studies.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (piping, mechanical, electrical).
• Mentor junior engineers and review their outputs.
• Ensure compliance with client specs and company procedures.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews and proposals.

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Principal Process Engineer to support offshore oil & gas projects, responsible for leading process engineering activities across all project phases. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions in line with project requirements and industry standards.

The Role

As a Principal Process Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

• Flow Assurance (OLGA)
• Lead and execute process engineering deliverables for offshore projects (concept, FEED, detailed engineering).
• Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and process calculations.
• Perform and supervise process simulations, heat & material balance calculations, and optimization studies.
• Prepare and review process design basis, philosophies, and specifications.
• Conduct or support HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and other process safety studies.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (piping, mechanical, instrumentation, electrical).
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and review their deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, international codes/standards (API, ASME, ISO), and company procedures.
• Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and design reviews.
• Support proposal engineering and estimation activities when required.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation measures, and ensure timely project delivery.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 18+ years of experience in process engineering, with strong exposure to offshore oil & gas projects.
• Proven experience in FEED and detailed engineering phases.
• Strong knowledge of process design, equipment sizing, and offshore systems.
• Experience in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim).
• Good understanding of process safety and risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
