Job summary

Careernet in Bengaluru seeks an experienced storage engineering professional to design, implement, and manage enterprise storage solutions. The role focuses on NetApp storage clusters, SAN environments, and NFS-based file storage across Linux and Windows workloads.

You will drive capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management while coordinating with ITSM processes and monitoring tools to ensure governance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of enterprise storage engineering experience with hands-on delivery responsibility.
• NetApp storage cluster engineering and capacity planning experience.
• NFS file storage engineering including exports/shares, snapshots, replication and lifecycle management.
• Hybrid storage configuration and troubleshooting across Windows and Linux workloads.
• Experience with ITSM and monitoring using ServiceNow and LogicMonitor for documentation and governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain reference architectures, engineering standards, and guardrails for file, hybrid, block, and SAN storage services.
• Lead hands-on delivery for EoL refresh and replacement initiatives including planning, validation, cutover, and rollback readiness.
• Engineer and optimize enterprise file storage with NFS as the primary protocol (exports/shares, snapshots, replication, tiering, upgrades, lifecycle management).
• Design and deliver hybrid cloud file storage patterns for new workloads, DR, and tiering, with monitoring and support models.
• Provide engineering support for block storage and SAN connectivity, including Fibre Channel fundamentals and RCA for complex incidents.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain reference architectures, engineering standards, and operational guardrails for file, hybrid, block, and SAN-related storage services.


• Lead hands-on delivery for EoL refresh and replacement initiatives, including planning, validation, cutover execution, and rollback readiness.


• Engineer and optimize enterprise file storage services with NFS as the primary protocol (exports/shares, snapshots, replication, tiering, quotas, upgrades, and lifecycle management).


• Design and deliver hybrid cloud file storage patterns for net-new workloads, disaster recovery (DR), and tiering, including operational monitoring and support models.


• Provide engineering support for block storage and SAN connectivity, including Fibre Channel fundamentals and FC zoning governance, and drive RCA for complex incidents.

Skills Required:

• 8+ years of enterprise storage engineering experience with significant hands-on delivery responsibility.


• NetApp storage cluster engineering and enterprise storage capacity planning.


• NFS file storage engineering experience (exports/shares, snapshots, replication, tiering, upgrades, lifecycle management).


• Hybrid storage configuration and troubleshooting across Windows and Linux workloads.


• ITSM and monitoring discipline using ServiceNow and LogicMonitor for documentation, observability, and operational governance.

Good to Have:

• Deep experience with NetApp ONTAP (including ONTAP Select) and NetApp OnCommand Insight (OCI).


• Experience with Azure NetApp Files and Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP, plus cloud networking/security concepts that influence storage designs.


• Automation experience using PowerShell/Python and/or Ansible/Terraform, including vendor APIs/SDKs and Git workflows.


• SAN exposure including Brocade/Cisco fabric concepts and troubleshooting.

Education:

B.E. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
