Job summary

WSP India seeks a senior designer to lead building services design within our Bengaluru team. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate MEP interfaces, and deliver comprehensive drawings, P&ID, and technical submittals for complex projects.

The role emphasizes design leadership, collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to project schedules with strong communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Membership to accredited engineering body (MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE) is essential.
• Experience in building services design with ISHRAE/ASHRAE knowledge advantageous.
• Strong ability to lead design calculations and produce drawings and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process and mentor team members to deliver cost-effective solutions.
• Participate in team meetings and liaise with other design teams within WSP.
• Prepare IFC drawings, schedules, datasheets, schematics and P&ID.
• Receive and evaluate quotations; coordinate with electrical and PHE services.
• Carry out regular design reviews and ensure compliance with specifications.

This role is to work as part of an engineering consultancy design team, taking a senior role in project design work, focused on production and liaison with the WSP Building Services Team and mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.

• Team in association with the Local CRC Head of MEP any variance between the works constructed and the design intent
• Lead the design process and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost effective solutions to the agreed programme.
• Participate in team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP
• Identify and flag additional fees to the Local CRC Head of MEP
• Complete timesheet accurately ahead of weekly deadlines
• Preparation of IFC Drawings, Schedules, Datasheets schematics and P&ID
• Should possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE
• Excellent working knowledge of ISHRAE, ASHRAE and good working knowledge of ME codes would be advantageous.
• Prepare heat load calculations
• Carryout preparation of Technical submittals of various materials, equipment's etc.,
• Knowledge of software like AutoCAD, MEP & other drafting soft wares
• Carry out detailed design, calculations & drawings.
• Carry out regular design reviews
• Understand the specifications and tender conditions accordingly design.
• Receive, analyze and evaluate quotations suiting our requirements.
• knowledge about other services like electrical, PHE etc. to carryout design co-ordination
• Good presentation skills are also required
• Must be fully conversant with technical software, such as Hevacomp,
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum of supervision.
