Job summary

WSP India is seeking a senior design engineer to lead project design work in building services, liaising with the WSP Building Services Team and mentoring junior members. The role emphasizes delivering cost-efficient, well-coordinated MEP solutions within programme constraints.

You will integrate with the local CRC Head of MEP, perform heat load analyses, prepare IFC drawings and P&ID, and contribute to technical submittals. Strong coordination and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Preparation of IFC Drawings, Schedules, Datasheets schematics and P&ID.
• Member of an accredited body such as MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE or ASHRAE.
• Familiar with ISHRAE and ASHRAE; knowledge of ME codes is advantageous.
• Prepare heat load calculations and technical submittals.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and MEP drafting software; undertake detailed design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design work and mentor junior team members within the WSP Building Services Team.
• Coordinate with local CRC Head of MEP to resolve design vs. construction variances.
• Lead the design process to deliver cost-effective solutions on schedule.
• Attend team meetings and communicate across WSP groups; flag extra fees when needed.

Job Description

This role is to work as part of an engineering consultancy design team, taking a senior role in project design work, focused on production and liaison with the WSP Building Services Team and mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.

Responsibilities

• Team in association with the Local CRC Head of MEP any variance between the works constructed and the design intent
• Lead the design process and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost effective solutions to the agreed programme.
• Participate in team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP
• Identify and flag additional fees to the Local CRC Head of MEP
• Complete timesheet accurately ahead of weekly deadlines

Qualifications

• Preparation of IFC Drawings, Schedules, Datasheets schematics and P&ID
• Should possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE
• Excellent working knowledge of ISHRAE, ASHRAE and good working knowledge of ME codes would be advantageous.
• Prepare heat load calculations
• Carryout preparation of Technical submittals of various materials, equipment's etc.,
• Knowledge of software like AutoCAD, MEP & other drafting soft wares
• Carry out detailed design, calculations & drawings.
• Carry out regular design reviews
• Understand the specifications and tender conditions accordingly design.
• Receive, analyze and evaluate quotations suiting our requirements.
• knowledge about other services like electrical, PHE etc. to carryout design co-ordination
• Good presentation skills are also required
• Must be fully conversant with technical software, such as Hevacomp,
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum of supervision.
