Job summary

AECOM in India seeks a senior HVAC design engineer with 12-15 years of experience in design engineering within a consulting setting. Focus areas include data centers and healthcare facilities, with expertise in load calculations using Carrier HAP and energy modeling using IES-VE.

You will lead HVAC design packages, ensure design quality, and mentor engineering teams across global projects in a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with Masters preferred.
• 12-15 years of HVAC design experience in a consulting environment.
• Experience in Data Center and Healthcare facility design is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Carrier HAP for cooling/heating load calculations is mandatory.
• Familiarity with IES-VE for energy modeling and building performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead HVAC design packages and provide technical oversight on complex projects.
• Manage design quality, perform reviews, and coordinate with clients.
• Mentor engineering teams and drive engineering excellence within a GDC environment.
• Coordinate with BIM, MEP coordination, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects.

Job Description

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• 12-15 years of experience in HVAC design engineering within a consulting environment.
• Minimum 6-7 years of experience working in a Global Design Center (GDC) delivering international projects.
• Proven experience in Data Center and/or Healthcare facility design is highly preferred.
• Proficient in Carrier HAP for cooling and heating load calculations (mandatory).
• Working knowledge of IES-VE for energy modeling and building performance analysis
• Strong expertise in: Chilled water plants and distribution systems Airside HVAC systems Critical cooling systems (CRAH/CRAC) Ventilation, pressurization, and smoke management systems Energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC solutions
• Thorough understanding of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IMC, and other international design codes and standards.
• Knowledge of Revit MEP, AutoCAD, BIM workflows, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience in HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, design reports, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
• Ability to independently lead HVAC design packages and provide technical oversight on complex projects.
• Experience managing design quality, technical reviews, client interactions, and project delivery.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities for developing engineering teams.
• Proven track record of delivering projects from Concept Design through Detailed Design and Construction Support.

Additional Advantage
