Job summary

WSP India is seeking a Technical Expert with core expertise in HV cable design and proven experience in Power Transmission & Distribution projects. The role involves managing cable engineering deliverables, ensuring timely, quality project delivery, and serving as the front face to key clients in the Middle East.

The incumbent will lead multi‑discipline projects, coordinate subcontractors, develop client relationships, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining thorough project

Responsibilities

• Assist the leadership technically for the successful delivery of multi‑discipline projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the contract to the satisfaction of the client, identifying, communicating, and managing Health and Safety risks.
• Actively develop external and internal client relationships.
• Coordinate technical management of subcontractors and remote resources.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
• Participate in industry working groups such as CIGRE and IEEE.
• Deliver accurate and thorough designs that meet industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practice with excellent constructability.
• Review internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice, and constructability.
• Resolve site queries during the construction phase.
• Maintain complete project documentation, including substation design, construction, completion packages, as‑built requirements, and return data.
• Make and maintain appropriate commitments to project teams, coordinating design activities with multi‑disciplined members.
• Collaborate with WSP offices and GCC teams for successful delivery of PT&D projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
• Lead projects and engage the client with hands‑on experience in project management processes and activities.
• Visit client offices and project sites in the Middle East as required.
