Role and Responsibilities
Principal Engineer will be integral to the HIG HBM Team in Hyderabad, India, responsible for designing and developing complex ASICs to meet product specifications for High Bandwidth Memories used in AI and HPC solutions.
- Solid understanding of die design, including die components, functions, and interactions.
- Active participation in standards committees, representing Micron and staying informed about industry developments.
- Lead the establishment and growth of a layout team to meet Micron’s global HBM layout requirements.
- Apply expertise in high‑speed interface principles, mixed‑signal design, and off‑chip signaling.
- Expertise in architecture analysis and optimization for performance, power, and area.
- Effective teamwork and multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.
- Generate and communicate specifications within the design team and to external customers.
- Demonstrate independent, analytical thinking and self‑motivation for successful layout projects.
- Support customers in implementing Micron’s products.
- Ensure timely development of analog and custom layouts.
- Organize tasks, allocate resources, and manage logistics for multiple projects.
- Manage team performance, development, hiring, and retention.
- Contribute to the overall success of the Micron India operation as a critical member of the HBM leadership team.
Qualification/Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in analog/custom layout in advanced CMOS process.
- Minimum 4+ years of developing teams and project experience; leading multiple projects and tape‑out.
- Expertise with Cadence VLE/VXL and Calibre DRC/LVS.
- Strong skills in layout, floor‑planning, and manual routing.
- Proven ability to build and continuously develop a premier analog/mixed‑signal layout team.
- Experience running multiple custom IC layout projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working in a multi‑functional, multi‑site team environment across multiple time zones.
- BE or MTech in Electronic/VLSI Engineering.
