Job summary

Lattice Semiconductor in Pune is seeking a Principal EDA engineer to join the EDA tools development team. You will contribute to an innovative toolchain for synthesis, place & route and timing analysis, collaborating across multiple engineering groups.

The role requires a deep FPGA/ASIC EDA background and strong coding skills, with leadership to drive features from concept to delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• 15+ years of experience in software development for FPGA or ASIC EDA software.
• Deep familiarity with commercial FPGA tools and operation flow.
• Proficiency in FPGA design tools like synthesis, place & route and timing analysis tools.
• Strong background in object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms
• Knowledge of shell, TCL or Python scripting.
• Detail oriented and independent problem solving.
• Ability to drive projects and lead discussions.
• Strong written and verbal communication and cross-group collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for development and architecture of Lattice EDA toolchain covering synthesis, place & route and timing analysis.
• Collaborate with Place & Route, Timing, Database & GUI teams to deliver a high quality and standards compliant EDA stack.
• Frame architectural & engineering specifications for new features from marketing requirements and ensure implementation satisfies them.
• Maintain high standards of architecture-quality, performance, and reliability.
• Own Spec and Plan process for EDA suite and contribute to P&R & Timing tool components.
• Improve development methodologies and processes.
