Lattice Semiconductor is seeking a Principal EDA engineer to join the EDA tools development team in Pune. This role offers a chance to contribute, learn, and grow within a dynamic team developing the EDA stack for synthesis, place & route, and timing analysis.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in FPGA/ASIC EDA software and strong OO programming skills, with experience in scripting and collaborating across multiple teams to deliver high-quality tools.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software development for FPGA or ASIC EDA software.
• Deep familiarity with commercial FPGA tools and operation flow.
• Proficiency in FPGA design tools like synthesis, place & route and timing analysis tools.
• Strong background in object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge of shell, TCL or Python scripting.
• Detail oriented and must possess independent problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to drive projects and lead a discussion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and collaboration skill with the ability to work with multiple groups.

Responsabilités

• Develop and architect Lattice EDA toolchain covering synthesis, place & route and timing analysis.
• Collaborate with Place & Route, Timing, Database & GUI teams to deliver a high quality EDA stack.
• Frame architectural & engineering specs for new features from marketing requirements and ensure implementation satisfies them.
• Maintain high standards of architecture-quality, performance, and reliability.
• Own Spec and Plan process for EDA suite and contribute to P&R & Timing tool components.
• Improve development methodologies and processes.

Accountabilities

• Responsible for development and architecture of Lattice EDA toolchain covering synthesis, place & route and timing analysis.
• Collaborate with Place & Route, Timing, Database & GUI teams to deliver a high quality and standards compliant EDA stack.
• Starting from Marketing requirements, help frame the architectural & engineering specification for new features and ensure that the actual implementation satisfies marketing requirements.
• Maintain high standards of architecture-quality, performance, and reliability.
• Own Spec and Plan process for EDA suite and contribute to the same for P&R & Timing tool components.
• Improve development methodologies and processes.
