Job summary

Exyte in Hyderabad seeks a senior Electrical Design Lead to manage the design team and own quality, schedule and budget for industrial projects. You will develop manhour estimates and deliverables including electrical system design, and provide procurement and construction support.

You will lead engineers to ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, BS, NEC and NFPA, review deliverables and mentor junior staff while driving timely project completion and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in design of industrial projects in engineering/consultancy/design organization.
• Familiar with IEC, IEEE, BS, NEC, NFPA.
• Prepare, review and check electrical deliverables such as power system studies, calculations, data sheets, drawings.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers; communicate effectively.

• Execute projects / tasks independently and coordinate across disciplines.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers and report progress at agreed intervals.
• Promote safe working practices and confidentiality; contribute to continuous improvement.

Job Summary:

• Manage the design team and responsible for Quality of deliverables, Schedule and Budget and taking ownership
• Understand the scope of work and develop Manhour Estimates, Electrical System Design and deliverables, provide Procurement & Construction Support
• Experience in Design of Industrial Projects in Engineering / Consultancy / Design Organization

Responsibilities:

• Familiar with international codes such as IEC, IEEE, BS, NEC, NFPA
• Prepare, review and check all electrical engineering deliverables such as Power system studies, Calculations, Specifications, Data Sheets, Drawings and other documents.
• Conduct review of the deliverables prepared by the team before issuing to ensure meeting Quality standards of the Company & Clients
• Review and understand the RFP and provide proposal support in preparing man-hour estimates, scope of works, exclusions etc
• Assist to Improve on Discipline standards & Tools
• Interact with Design Engineers / Designers to ensure that the necessary engineering documents are developed and meets the project requirement as per the project time lines
• Execute projects / tasks independently
• Perform Inter-Discipline coordination - Coordinate with Design Managers and Department Manager to resolve any inter disciplinary issues
• Guide & Mentor Junior engineers & Designers to deliver the task
• Updating & reporting project design progress at agreed intervals
• Interact with other Host office counterparts and participate in technical meetings
• Responsible for completing project on time with expected quality
• Responsible to meet KPIs (Ontime Delivery, First Time Acceptance, Effort Variance, Rework, Customer Feedback Index) as per the business objective
• Comply with the Company’s Quality Assurance procedures and assist Department Manager in review of standards and department procedures to promote a continual improvement
• To promote safe working practices and to protect the health and wellbeing of Employees, subcontractors and customers.
• Contribute to the development of effective working relationships are established and maintained with clients and internal colleagues.
• Ensuring that confidentiality is observed and maintained when dealing with private/confidential correspondence, reports, statements, records, other documents and information.

Core Competencies

• Knowledge in Power System Studies Software (ETAP or equivalent) and analysis
• Technical knowledge and understanding of Engineering Design for High Voltage and Low Voltage Electrical systems from Basic Design
• Technical knowledge and understanding of project execution processes
• Extensive knowledge of local code of practice for design implementation
• Thorough knowledge on various electrical system equipment
• Project planning and execution
• Ability to make technical decision to ensure teams consistently deliver good design, quality of work, realization of scope, meeting the schedule
• Construction experience or knowledge is an added advantage
• Proactive approach, ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and on own initiative.
• Possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate well at all levels
