Flex is seeking a Principal Consultant - Applications Architecture in Chennai to lead hands-on, enterprise-scale architecture. You will define architectures, guide cloud-native solutions, and drive secure, scalable AI-enabled business apps, reporting to the Senior Manager, IT.

The role emphasizes independent contribution, collaboration with security and data teams, and a focus on DevSecOps, governance and production readiness. Health benefits and PTO are provided.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in enterprise app development and architecture.
• Strong expertise in design patterns, SOLID, microservices and cloud-native development.
• Hands-on experience with GCP, Kubernetes/GKE, .NET, Angular or React, SQL Server, Snowflake, MuleSoft and OKTA.
• Experience designing secure, scalable enterprise apps and integrations.
• Exposure to Gemini Enterprise or generative AI with responsible AI awareness.
• Strong English communication and ability to work independently as a principal contributor.

Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling Axiom. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Principal Consultant - Applications Architecture in Chennai.

Reporting to Senior Manager, IT, and the role involves providing hands-on technical leadership as an individual contributor, defining enterprise application architecture, and delivering secure, scalable, cloud-native and AI-enabled business solutions.

What a typical day looks like:

• Define application and solution architectures using proven design patterns, microservices, API-first, event-driven and cloud-native principles.
• Architect and guide enterprise solutions using .NET, Angular, React, SQL Server and Snowflake, including modernization of legacy applications.
• Design and implement GCP solutions using Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine, App Engine and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Lead integration architecture using MuleSoft and identity solutions using OKTA, including secure authentication, authorization and API governance.
• Leverage Gemini Enterprise for AI-based application development, workflow automation and responsible adoption of generative AI capabilities.
• Perform architecture, design and code reviews; establish reusable standards, reference architectures, engineering guardrails and technical documentation.
• Partner with business, security, data, infrastructure and delivery stakeholders to translate complex requirements into resilient and cost-effective solutions.
• Drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, performance, reliability and production-readiness practices across the application lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across teams without direct people-management responsibility.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in enterprise application development, solution architecture and complex technology delivery.
• Strong expertise in applications architecture, design patterns, SOLID principles, microservices and cloud-native development.
• Hands-on experience with GCP services, Kubernetes/GKE, .NET, Angular or React, SQL Server, Snowflake, MuleSoft and OKTA.
• Experience designing secure, highly available, scalable and maintainable enterprise applications and integrations.
• Practical exposure to Gemini Enterprise or generative AI-based application development, with awareness of responsible AI and data-security considerations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder-management and written/oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to operate independently as a principal-level individual contributor, manage competing priorities and deliver within strict timelines.
