Job summary

Pico is seeking engineers to design and develop features across its product range, including Ultra-low latency market data and order execution solutions. You will work on high-performance, multi-threaded software in a Linux environment, focusing on reliability, maintainability, and scalability.

Ideal candidates have deep knowledge of capital markets, FIX protocols, and a track record of delivering CI-driven test automation.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in an engineering discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc).
• Strong proficiency in C development under Linux with maintainable code.
• Solid knowledge of capital markets and trading concepts (order types, quotes).
• In-depth understanding of electronic trading protocols, including FIX.
• Experience building high-performance, multi-threaded systems; CI and automated testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop features across Pico’s product range for ultra-low latency market data and order execution solutions.
• Contribute to high-performance, multi-threaded software and optimize for hardware/platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams; participate in CI/test automation.
• Learn and adapt to evolving markets and technology to support clients through trading lifecycle.

The Role

This is an opportunity to join a world-leading engineering team working on the design and development of new features across Pico’s entire product range. Our Redline Trading Solutions provides ultra-low latency market data and order execution solutions that solve the toughest latency and throughput challenges in today’s equities, options, futures and foreign exchange markets. Our Corvil Analytics technology is used extensively by market participants to understand various aspects of their performance and execution, at both network and business level, in real-time and retrospectively. We are at a tremendously exciting stage with extensive, on-going innovative work and an exciting vision to fulfill.

Requirements:

• BSc/MScin arelevant Engineering disciple (Computer Science,Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,etc)
• A strongproficiencyin Cdevelopment under Linuxwith a focus on writing maintainable code
• Strong knowledge ofcapital markets (equities, fixedincome, etc)andtrading concepts (ordertypes, quotes, etc).
• In-depth understanding of electronic tradingprotocols, including FIX.
• Experience in developinghigh-performance systems,multi-threaded applications, and computer architecture
• Automated testing (unit testing, integration testing) and Continuous Integration (Jenkins), including the delivery of CI aligned test automation
• Insatiable appetite for problem-solving and learning about technology
• Team player-excels in a collaborative environmentwhile using initiative to the team’s benefit
• Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
• 10+ years of relevant work experience including 5+ years working in the electronictradingtechnology space
• This role isoffice-based, minimum expectation is hybrid office/remote work.

Experience/Knowledge of the following is desirable:

• Multiplelinux-based development environments, including tools such asgdbandvalgrind
• Performance tuning for specific hardware and OS platforms e.g. CPU isolation, kernel-bypass, memory bandwidth, etc.
• Pythonand Javaprogramming
• IP networkingandPacket capture analysis using tools such as Wireshark
• Experience across multiple asset classesand end-to-end lifecycle of a trade
• Experience working directly with clients and across various business teams
• Experience as a Team Lead or similar management experience

Working Arrangements

This is a Hybrid position with weekly time in the office with the flexibility of working from home . Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent.
