Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic qualification.
• 6+ years of experience as a business analyst or data analyst.
• Expert knowledge of US Mortgage industry, mortgage documents and data structures.
• Strong MS Excel skills for analysis of complex data and reports.
• Advanced data synthesis and problem-solving for ambiguous data.
• Knowledge of XML, JSON and API testing and data workflows.
• Experience mentoring Senior Analysts and providing direction.

Responsibilities

• Review and deliver test results per business requirements and perform root cause analysis on defects after releases.
• Create comprehensive test cases and identify defects and gaps before release.
• Analyze complex business processes within the domain and document findings accurately.
• Provide strategic, data-driven recommendations on business solutions aligned with best practices.
• Participate in scrum events and collaborate with DevOps, QA, Engineering, and Product teams.
• Perform gap analysis, release planning and drive process improvements for efficiency.
• Analyze Jira stories, defects and epics with detailed findings and traceability.
• Maintain and update data documentation throughout project and post-release phases.

A Principal Business Analyst should possess an expert-level knowledge of US mortgage documents and data structures, applying that knowledge to drive strategic analysis and deliver impactful solutions. The role requires exceptional communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to lead and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Review and deliver test results as per business requirements and apply root cause analysis on defects and incidents after each release.
• Create comprehensive test cases and identify defects and quality gaps in final deliverables prior to release.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of complex business processes and systems within the specialized domain, and document findings with accuracy.
• Provide strategic expert advice and data-driven recommendations on business solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
• Participate in scrum events and collaborate with DevOps, QA, Engineering, and Product teams to understand scope planning, requirements, and delivery commitments.
• Perform Gap Analysis, Release Planning, and implement Process Improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and delivery quality.
• Analyze and document Jira stories, defects, and epics with detailed findings, ensuring traceability and clarity throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Maintain and continuously update data documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout the project and post-release phases.

Knowledge And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualification.
• 6+ years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, or equivalent, with a demonstrated track record in a specialized domain.
• Expert knowledge of US Mortgage industry, mortgage document and data structures for financial and legal documents.
• Sound knowledge of MS Excel and experience performing analysis of complex data and excel reports.
• Advanced data synthesis, problem-solving, and the ability to evaluate complex, ambiguous data to make informed decisions
• Sound knowledge of XML, JSON, and API Testing, as well as programming logic applied in data and document analysis workflows.
• Mentors, coaches, and provides work direction for Senior Analysts or others assigned to carry out analyst activities.

Preferred Knowledge And Experience

• Advanced analytical skills with proven experience in Agile development methodology and specialized domain delivery.
• Excellent communication skills; must read, speak, and write English fluently and present to diverse audiences including senior stakeholders.
• Ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and influence decisions at multiple levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills, high accuracy with data, and meticulous attention to detail in all deliverables.

• Experience in scope commitment analysis, drafting and refining epics, and elaborating them into actionable user stories.
