Gaurs Group in India is seeking a seasoned Head of Legal to lead the organization’s Legal Department, guiding senior management on strategic, regulatory and contractual matters. You will oversee real estate, land, construction, and corporate legal affairs, including negotiations and due diligence.

The role requires deep expertise in property laws, RERA, and regulatory compliance, with strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills. A male candidate is preferred.

Formación

• LLB / LLM from a reputed institution.
• 12–15 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the real estate / infrastructure / construction industry.
• Strong experience in real estate laws, land matters, RERA, litigation, contracts and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience in handling complex legal matters at a senior leadership level.
• Strong negotiation, drafting, analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Should have strong relationships with external legal counsels, authorities and relevant stakeholders.
• Male candidate required.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage the organization's Legal Department, providing strategic direction and legal advisory to senior management.
• Handle and oversee real estate, property, land, construction and corporate legal matters.
• Provide legal guidance on property acquisitions, development agreements, joint ventures, leases, conveyancing and other real estate transactions.
• Review, draft and negotiate agreements, contracts, MOUs, development agreements, sale/purchase documents and commercial contracts.
• Manage and monitor litigation, arbitration, disputes and regulatory proceedings across various forums.
• Coordinate with external advocates, law firms, consultants and government authorities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable RERA, Companies Act, land laws, local development regulations and other statutory requirements.
• Identify legal risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies to protect the organization's interests.
• Advise the Board and senior leadership on critical legal, regulatory and contractual matters.
• Establish effective legal processes, policies and documentation standards across the organization.
• Oversee legal due diligence for land/property transactions and major business projects.
• Represent the organization's legal interests before relevant authorities, courts and tribunals through internal/external legal teams.
• Lead, mentor and develop the legal team while ensuring timely and effective resolution of legal matters.
