Role & responsibilities
Job Summary
The Pre-Sales Engineer will work closely with the Sales, Design, Estimation, Project, and Operations teams to develop technically and commercially viable ELV solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirement Analysis
- Understand customer requirements, project scope, and technical specifications.
- Analyze tender documents, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
- Identify technical requirements and recommend suitable ELV solutions.
- Clarify technical requirements with clients, consultants, and the sales team.
- Conduct site visits and surveys when required.
2. ELV Solution Design
- Design and develop ELV solutions based on project requirements.
- Prepare system architecture and technical solutions.
- Select appropriate products, equipment, and technologies.
- Ensure proposed solutions comply with project specifications and applicable standards.
- Coordinate with vendors for product selection and technical information.
3. BOQ & Estimation
- Prepare detailed BOQs, material take-offs, and cost estimates.
- Calculate quantities based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with the purchase/procurement team for updated product pricing.
- Prepare comparative statements and evaluate vendor quotations.
- Ensure accurate costing and optimize solutions without compromising technical requirements.
4. Technical Proposal Preparation
- Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals.
- Prepare compliance statements against tender specifications.
- Prepare technical submittals, datasheets, product specifications, and method statements where required.
- Prepare presentations and technical documentation for client/consultant discussions.
- Ensure proposals are submitted within the required timelines.
5. ELV Drawings & Documentation
- Review and interpret ELV layouts, schematic drawings, riser diagrams, and system architecture drawings.
- Coordinate with the design/drafting team for preparation and modification of drawings.
- Review drawings for technical accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare or review system block diagrams and single-line diagrams.
- Ensure proper documentation of proposed solutions.
6. Tender & Bid Management
- Study and analyze ELV tender documents.
- Prepare technical responses and tender submissions.
- Identify deviations, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications.
Preferred candidate profile
ideal candidate should have 3+ years of relevant experience in ELV pre-sales, design, estimation, or system integration, with strong knowledge of ELV systems, BOQ preparation, technical documentation, drawings, and tender specifications.
